It’s only 1600 votes however we are screwed that they took this now ugh

I guess the fact that the plaintiffs showed that citizens were being removed as well was a bonus for this court

Yes and more importantly gives them a case to file more removals

Thanks funny. It’s amazing how bad the Supreme Court is. They’ve already said that the next fifty years will be impacted by this court. Imagine if Trump gets in and stacks it with more corrupt justices like Alito and Thomas and to a lesser extent, “Bart” (who paid all Kavanaugh’s bills?)

Alito said he will retire pretty soon if Trump gets elected. Thomas probably will do the same. This election is unbelievably important.

So you think noncitizens should be voting, which they don't have the right to do? What is wrong with you?

no one is saying that non-citizens should vote. There is a law prohibiting non-citizens from voting. VA is purging records incredibly close to the election which is what the problem is. They are also purging a hell of a lot of citizens due to clerical errors and because it's so close to the election they will not have a chance to appeal and rectify the mistake. Do you think citizens should be denied the right to vote? What is wrong with you?

You can’t purge voters within 90 days of an election—this is a federal law that the Supreme Court chose to ignore.

There are a lot of citizens in those who were purged. You’re okay with Virginia prohibiting citizens from voting? What is wrong with you?

Isn't the issue that some citizens will likely also be purged because this is a rush job based on "suspicions" with no time to correct errors before the election? Housekeeping voter rolls is appropriate but the timing will make mistakes permanent as to this election.

Virginia has had early voting open for weeks already. Are htey going to purge the votes of those who already voted?

Intentionally filed the day of the 90 day quiet period. This was an obvious political stunt. Eff Youngkin.

You think it is okay to stop US citizens from voting.

U.S. citizens are among the voters removed in Virginia’s controversial purge

OCTOBER 29, 20242:44 PM ET
Nadra Wilson of Lynchburg, Va., was concerned and confused when she received a letter in the mail from local election officials notifying her that her U.S. citizenship was in question.

The notice said she needed to affirm she was a U.S. citizen within 14 days or her voter registration would be canceled. It was first sent to an old address and then was forwarded. By the time Wilson received it in October, the deadline had passed.

But Wilson was puzzled by the letter. "I was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. — I'm a citizen," Wilson said in an interview with NPR before showing her American passport as proof.
