Taylor Swift is awful (and her music isn't even very good)

Carol king has been very generous in her praise of Taylor Swift. Bruce Springsteen has said she’s a talented writer. Same with Billy Joel.
She might not be everyone’s favorite, but they see her as objectively talented.

Dolly, you can tell, from her comments, just wishes she could be Taylor.

In fact, it’s surprising that all of these older performers haven’t committed a mass suicide in their shame of not reaching the great musical heights of Taylor.

No little kids or future kids should bother trying to take music lessons or sing. Taylor is the best it can be and no one will ever be as good. Music is over. Taylor perfected it and everyone else should step away.

She’s good enough, according to a billions of dollars, millions and millions of music listeners and truckload of awards.

MC Hammer has sold more than 50 million records, Maria Callas has had a little over 1.2 total up through the present. Sales do not equal talent or having a good voice. Lots of people, apparently too many, like an image more than they appreciate music. Taylor sells an image well, but her voice sucks.

Out of curiosity, I looked up what Dolly had to say about Taylor. While Dolly was very gracious, she didn’t actually have anything nice to say. Dolly said that she doesn’t follow Taylor’s music, that touring is hard, so props to Taylor for doing it, and last but not least that she (Dolly) would be just there to work on the half-time show and wouldn’t be in the crowd watching before of after. That’s hardly an example of gushing praise.

I hate this thread too, because it shows me how fanatical people can get about a middling talent.
