She could have earned her own money and done whatever she wished with it. Seems from the financial documents she was spending north of 200k a month so it doesn't mean she had an allowance. He is better off not being in a marriage where he is viewed as a wallet.

First of all, she was not "stealing from him", they were married.

The bolded above screams "woman trying to leave an abusive and controlling man who controls all the money". This is textbook.

To me, what she did was stealing. It’s no different to taking money and stashing it away in a secret account, that is also stealing.

He gave her a generous allowance after all, right? She shouldn't have control of any of their assets or income, right?

Sounds oppressive, like my parents' marriage. Golden handcuffs are hard to take off. My mom never did. I hope Christine's next chapter is a good one.
