What was final score of GZ vs Good Counsel? |
| Landon definitely wants Corrigans event to happen. If EHS pulls out of the IAC playoffs they should most definitely be dropped from the IAC! |
|
Whoever says EHS should drop out or be kicked out of the IAC needs to have their head examined. I don't think a five team league is viable.
What other school would join the IAC? Let's be serious about that question. If the IAC dissolves, the likely outcome is joining the MIAA for Prep, Landon, and Bullis, St. Albans to the MAC and EHS and StSStA to the VA Prep League. That means a whole lot more travel for all former IAC members. A MAC IAC WCAC merger with sport specific divisions might be useful - with relegation and promotion. I think that is how the MIAA works with their three divisions. But, I think Prep, Landon, and Bullis would be better served merging with the MIAA and participating in their divisions. |

Maybe football has a superconference for the Gonzaga's DeMatha's and Good Counsel's of the world to play St. Francis and Calvert Hall.
Back to lacrosse. IAC seeding predictions. 1 Prep 2 Bullis 3 Landon 4 StSStA 5 St. Albans. History repeats itself with Prep and Landon in the final. Anyone's guess wins in a one goal barn burner. On to the IAC WCAC Challenge. StJC surprises with a win over the field. |
12-5 GZ. First quarter was tight, but wheels came off for GC in the 2nd. |
Overrated....Lehigh has a dominant FOGO and is getting there ass handed to them by Rutgers...to be elite you need to have studs in all position groups. |
Zone defense hurting Rutgers. Man up if you are really D1. |
IAC Regular Season Results Team Record Goal Diff Prep 8-1 +65 Bullis 6-3 +28 Landon 5-4 +9 St Steph 5-4 -23 St Albans 1-8 -66 Episcopal* 1-4 -15 *DNP Landon, played St Stephens 2x Well done by all teams to complete a nine game IAC regular season. Good luck moving forward. |
I thought SSSA was 5-5 because they played EHS twice? Wins over Landon, Bullis, EHS, St Albans x2 with losses to Landon, Bullis, EHS, and Prep x2? EHS also not playing in IAC tourney and playing in VISAA instead, apparently. |
Makes sense. Might get Covid from IAC but not VISAA. |
IAC does not use goals against for a tie break. SSSAS won a coin flip over Landon for the 3 seed. Landon vs. St. Alban’s on Tuesday. |
VISAA teams are not testing. Non-Virginia IAC schools refused to let SSSAS and EHS play in IAC tourney if they were going to play non-tested VISAA teams. EHS chose the VISAA tourney. |
Tough break for Landon considering they had goal differential overall, goal differential vs. higher seeds, and goal differential head-to-head against SSSA. Landon vs. St. Albans three times in six days at Landon! |
I can't figure out why Episcopal opted not to play in the IAC playoffs but willingly chose to play in the VISSA instead. I thought the Maroon despite the upset loss to STA had a very competitive team this Spring. If the Bears had the goal differential overall over the Saints, goal differential overall, why was there a coin toss to begin with? Why did EHS only play every IAC team only once but agreed to play the Saints twice. Something seems very fishy or maybe this COVID season is making things appear very strange. |
I have no idea why EHS only played a limited IAC schedule. As for the tournaments, seems obvious. EHS would be 6 seed in IAC tourney. EHS is 2 seed in VISAA tourney. They think they can win a title. |
