If that happens, what is the point of the merger? If I have a kid at CYA who is actually good, and their team is dissolving, why wouldn’t I look elsewhere - at least McLean isn’t responsible for the kids team falling apart?

Financial is the reason. which can back fire. My opinion based on watching both clubs play at multiple age brackets is SYA is general better. Kids will just leave if they are relegated to third team. Which is going to happen.

What team is falling apart? Every year there are tryouts at every club. Teams and rosters change over time. This isn't any different and you just might like how it turns out if you stay. Either way your team will range from slightly new to completely new.

VAVFC is the acronym used on the press release & their website.

If this merger is happening then let the hunger games begin and may the odds be ever in your favor

. They aren’t falling apart but they do have revenue issues when they only carry one to two teams per age bracket per gender. M

So much for fair tryouts

I think some snowflakes will get their feelings hurt when they are no longer on the A team..

They better refer to the B team as the other A team to make everyone feel like winners.

Can’t wait to see all the SYA parents who have kids who think their kids are gods gift to soccer not make the top team lol

It’s about time we start seeing consolidation. Should be more.

So What do you think is best in your mind's eye? We consolidate until be have maybe 10 larger teams in NOVA (not clubs because clubs will stay independent) such as ... and I'm just making this up....We have Arlington, VDA, Alexandria (can merge with LMVSC), Springfield already in alliance with Manassas but they can pick up whoever is around there like Burke, and maybe BRYC; Then GFR, McLean, and Vienna merge (maybe FPYC can go with them or Valor); maybe Herndon, Sterling, ODFC, etc, can merge; You have Loudoun, ... that's 7. Have these 7 clubs in their own league with other large clubs from MD and the clubs still maintain club teams that play in an NCSL type league? I don't mean to exclude Winchester or Stafford or any of those teams. I just don't know them as well as teams closer in.
