"You’re not my type."

OP seems like Lena Duhnam testing out new source material.

OP - it’s clear that he hurt your feelings. Not cool on his part. I don’t understand why he responded at all.

It looks like he was trying not to be harsh (commenting that you’re pretty) so maybe it was just a clumsy response on his part.

So I pushed it. I asked him what he considered petite.

He said 5’1-5’4 and no more than 125-130lbs.

I told him that some 14 year olds don’t even fit in that category and he blocked me.

OP, I was on your side until you decided to argue with him about his preferences. This was all very unnecessary on your part. I don't think you are in the right mindset to date. MUCH WORSE things are going to happen before you find your next soulmate. Buckle up.

This screams pathetic on all levels. OP you’re single because you are a pathetic. You come to post on a forum to complain about not being one guys type?! The low of the low.

apparently, women are supposed to know that this is how we are judged, and not take it personally.

that's online dating, and it works in both direction. It's the logical result of an app serving up potential dates like a menu

How sad that people think that basic norms of politeness go out the window when you’re communicating via a dating app.

what do you expect, women screen on height and weight and men do the same.

for the millionth time - nobody cares if you screen. but keep your comments about women’s bodies to yourself. do you really not get that? if a woman called you up to invite you on a date, do you think it would be ok to say “your BMI is too high for me”?

As a woman I have indeed done this scenario to a man. I’m a tall woman, he was a short man. Did explain as I did find him attractive the height would be a dealbreaker for me. People want what they want. There are billions of people in the world, someone is bound to want your BMI.
