There are 9 prestigious US colleges. The rest of you are leveraging a four-year communications degree for an assistant manager role at Avis. |
No, and I'm not sure what BC is good at. |
Its religious affiliation seems to be its primary draw. And I suppose it's size and location are attractive. |
+1 Whatever BC does well, Georgetown and Emory do better... even much better. |
BC is a better school if you want to live North if VA. I went there and the network of alumni in MA, NY and northeast states is strong. Especially in finance .. ie Wall Street. Obviously if you want to be a dr. Emory is better. But being from the northeast myself I never even heard of Emory until I moved to va. |

Georgetown is not at all prestigious. Emory is a safety. BC is a party school. |
The religious/Jesuit affiliation of BC and Georgetown is very muted and continues to diminish. |
Well, they wouldn’t have taught you that in community college. |
Emory Undergrad business is ranked higher than BC's and Georgetown's. Emory is ranked 12, Georgetown 16, and BC 23. If BC was so good and somehow better than Emory why, isn't there any ranking that shows it. PP posted the Emory career placement and NYC was no. 2. for most frequent destinations. I'm guessing most of that is also wall street. |
Is that a Ronald MacDonald quotation? ![]() |
NP. Depends on the ranking used. US News is not exactly the most reliable. And picking a school from rankings, which vary annually, is a little silly. Take small differences with a grain of salt, at least. Try P&Q https://poetsandquantsforundergrads.com/2019/12/20/wharton-again-tops-pqs-best-undergraduate-b-schools-of-2020/4/ |
Most of the comments under the article say that ranking is a disaster. And frankly, I've never heard of poets and quants. Most people and university officials report to U.S news. With over 10,000 responses per survey, I'll continue to look at that one and not a ranking I've never heard of. |
DC chose BC over Emory (Boston over Atlanta) |
Okay but it's clear if you get into Emory you'll get into BC. The other way around isn't as true. |
