Don't forget thin and blond. |
Those aren't exclusionary. There are white Jews, black Jews, and Asian Jews. We're everywhere! <cue diabolical laughter> |

NP, but I don't think so. I admire a lot of beautiful women. LOVE Kate Middleton and MM (wish they got along and were BFFs, oh well), and I think Kristen Cavallari is hilarious and a lot more gorgeous than Gwyneth. So, don't think it's jealously, at least for me. I just find her annoying. |
How old are you? You probably aren't GP target audience. I'm going to guess they skew older and closer to her age. You seem much younger. |
I'm pretty sure by bringing her 16 year old daughter into the mix, she's really trying for a younger audience. |
Well I guess its not for you then. You aren't 50, aren't the parent of a teen age girl, and think she's boring. Different strokes for different folks. I have never even looked at GOOP I just know who Gwyneth Paltrow is. I don't waste time on things that I don't find interesting or don't appeal to me. |
Who's claiming she's an amazing actress? She's a famous person, whose family is involved with acting so that's where the strings were pulled. I'd trade lives with her in a heartbeat if I could bring my kids along for the ride. |
Exactly. But someone (see above) keeps wanting to discuss her dad. The only reason he is relevant is because he helped open doors. It doesn't matter if he was a household name or not. It's pretty clear that Gwyneth, like just about everyone else in Hollywood, has used her connections and network to make herself successful. |
No one needs to claim an amazing actress- she was considered the best in her day when she won best actress for Shakespeare in love. Which I recently watched and can not believe she actually won. Her dad must have been very powerful indeed. |
|
and here you are, acting like you invented frustration with Gwyneth Paltrow and her tone deafness.
People buy what she recommends. They subscribe to her blogs. Apparently not everyone is as frustrated as you are. |
That would be a better conversation.... actors who didn't deserve their awards and who should have won. The Oscars have been problematic for a very long time. |
| You don’t realize it, but internally this finding her “insufferable” is deadly jealousy. She was born wealthy, never needed for anything, naturally thin, and successful in her own way. Her brand is a bit out if touch, but that’s not the entire person. So much if this thread is just mean girl shnit. |
NP - but no its not jealousy for me. I've been very fortunate and am very happy with my life. i find the GOOP thing to be absurd, and she comes across as out of touch and preachy - which is a huge turn off. we're entitled to have opinions that aren't rooted in some pathological jealousy, just like you're allowed to make inaccurate generalizations on the internet |
Eh. Nitpicking tends to have an emotional component. |
