"I have talked about many things over the years that people called me crazy for: yoga, reiki, macrobiotics, gluten-free food, anything about vaginas... The negativity that surrounded each one lives on on the internet. It became just part of the cycle: I, or we at Goop, introduce something unfamiliar, there’s a big reaction, before gradual cultural adoption."

She totally misses the point. People don't think she's crazy because she does yoga or eats healthy. People are pissed that she thinks she INVENTED this stuff and is kind enough to bestow it on the rest of us.

I don't think she's crazy to talk about yoga, gluten free, vaginas. I think she's crazy to suggest that eating gluten free is "healthy" for people who have no problem with gluten and downright DANGEROUS to suggest steaming one's vagina. The vagina is, as I told my daughter, like a self-cleaning oven. You just have to spot-clean it. She's nuts to tell people to shove things up there.

Maybe I don't follow her closely enough, but I never thought she claims to invent this stuff. I just see her as totally out of touch and mega woo and it is 40% endearing and 60% appalling.

She is so depressing because I loved the movie Proof (it was a fav of mathematicians, I remember seeing reviews in academic journals) and loved her in it. Who she is is so completely counter to that.
