Demise of DA fallout

GA boosters are saying a league that may have 1/5 of the country's top 100 clubs by the end of the day matters. Seems reasonable that a college wouldn't ignore roughly 20% of the girls they might like to recruit. Seems reasonable that their daughter might enjoy playing in the league and have good competition, and possibly even get some exposure to college coaches - given that she plays for one of those top 100 clubs and will be playing against plenty of others in league games, showcases, and other tournaments.

One group is excited about a new opportunity for their kid. The other group is spending a lot of time telling others how worthless that opportunity is. I'm pretty comfortable with the group I'm in. You may be as well. Good for you.

Sounds good. However, the best players will migrate to the best league. Always have. Always will. This is why FCV crushed Loudoun for years. Now, well....

Let's say that GA does get 1/5 of the top 100 clubs, which is very optimistic, and that's also assuming all those clubs retain their all their top kids(which won't happen). College recruiting budgets will be severely contracted next year because of all of the economic impacts of COVID-19, and college soccer programs will have to pick and choose which events give them the most bang for their recruiting buck. Will they choose to go to an event where the teams playing represent 80% of the top clubs or the event where the teams playing represent 20% of the top clubs? Easy choice. ECNL exposure >>>> GA exposure by a landslide.

Because your dumb ass is bragging about how wonderful the college exposure is for your new league. If you don't want to discuss it, don't post about it.

Why is that VERY optimistic? Already have 16, plus 2 more that are GA/ECRL and very well may place A teams in GA, and Lonestar, Dash, and Sporting Blue Valley which are rumored to be GA Frontier Conference by the end of the day?

As I recall, this was all started with giddy ECNL boosters reposting tweeted rumors of DA's demise and then piling on. The DA people have simply responded with facts about what happened and what is happening. They definitely didn't start the crapstorm though.

College soccer programs go to the events where they have prospects. College soccer programs don’t care about leagues. If you are hoping for a top college soccer program to see you at a showcase and come running with a scholarship in hand, you have no idea how this process works. Also, can we please stop with this top 100 club list. This is just a BS list put together by a bunch of guys hoping to drive visitors to their site. It’s no better than some buzzfeed list.

+1, along with hopeful statements about a new opportunity for their kid to continue playing at a club she is presumably happy at. Why this bothers the ECNL crowd so much, and why they hope that things do not go well for someone else's kid - I will never understand.

LOL. People piled on to the denialists who put their head in the sand when it became more an more clear that the rumors of DA's demise were true. They piled on even more on those denialists after the rumors came true. The people who piled on(ECNL people) had the facts correct, and the denialists(DA people) has had the facts wrong. Mostly agree on the list, although it does at least somewhat pass the smell test, so it's at least a starting point to show that both leagues have a significant number of quality teams. There are plenty of great clubs not on that list, some of which may have been considered for the bottom half of it. There are probably also a few clubs who don't really belong, but honestly, they're probably pretty good anyway. All this from a website that many consider to be ECNL apologists - they certainly have a lot of ECNL clubs as sponsors, and I've never heard anyone say the have a pro DA or GA slant.

Still not really understanding why it makes you happy to dance on the grave of a children's sports program, or talk about how inferior a new program is.

One group is excited about a new opportunity for their kid. The other group is spending a lot of time telling others how worthless that opportunity is. I'm pretty comfortable with the group I'm in. You may be as well. Good for you.

Again, why is it so important to you to tell us that?

Because your dumb ass is bragging about how wonderful the college exposure is for your new league. If you don't want to discuss it, don't post about it.

Now I'm a dumb ass. Someone is getting upset.

HAHAHAHAHA. You really believe that? OMG with you folks.

You think Soccerwire has a pro DA/GA slant? Okay, that's the first time I've ever heard that one, and between the articles I've read on there and their list of sponsor clubs, that really doesn't track for me. Maybe balanced, maybe not, but pro DA/GA?
