Untreated mental illness? |
What a total psycho. As someone who used to work for a municipal government, my heart goes out to those folks speaking on behalf of APS. McKinley is currently my neighborhood school, and I have NO IDEA what would incense a person to behave like that. It's a building, Karen. Your kids will be alright if they learn their fractions in another building. |
Seriously. I'm hardly an APS booster but I actually sent a comment through the engage page saying that I thought the behavior last night was appalling and they didnt deserve it. |
| From all the screaming on the video, you’d think that Ashlawn throws kids in cages and reenacts Fight Club. Geesh. It all will be fine. |
| Has the new questionnaire been discussed? It specifically states that option 2 will NOT be advanced for recommendation to the School Board. |
| I cannot understand why Mckinley screamers keep trying to raise empty seats at Jamestown, Nottingham and Discovery as a defense for McKinley being kept neighborhood. How do you think it HELPS your case to have additional neighborhood seats in the sector? Obviously the zones can push up! |
watch the video - that is the point, that is what was stated last night. |
I gathered from the yelling that they just really don’t want to go to Ashlawn. |
OK, but could we do that with the parents? |
Why not? Does this impact their kids’ chances to gain admission to UVA or something? |
No idea but maybe they are jealous. |
Yes. Just assign their PUs up there. |
| I truly don’t get the persistence about Key immersion not moving. The staff said ATS is a better location for immersion. Staffers are professionals. i trust them. |
It's good for their commute. Pure self interest disguised as concern for underprivileged children. You'll notice that very few ACTUAL neighborhood families (of any complexion or income level) are out their trying to screw their neighbors. It's the people who attend Key from outside the immediate area. |
+1 All the hysterics on AEM are about won't anyone think of the poor, underprivileged children at Key! But that's all they care about, the specific subset of kids at Key (which can't fill its 50% Native Spanish quota). They don't care about underprivileged children near Key who can't/don't want to go to immersion and would be better served by a neighborhood school. Or underprivileged children who are closer to ATS and would be better served by that location, and more likely to choose it for their kids if it was closer to the concentration of Spanish speakers. And, if you point that out, you are racist. |
