APS Elementary Planning Mtg at Swanson - Option 1 in, Option 2 out, McKinley Moms out of contro

Some will make millions or billions, others will make little but produce great social change or art.

Very little of this depends on whether the kids went to McKinley or Reed or Ashlawn.

This is what APS should say at the meetings.

They did say something akin to that, plus that they have 4K students to consider (in other words, shut up about your snowflakes).

It wouldn’t surprise me if they yanked it. Lisa Stengel appeared to be on the verge of tears and cut the Q & A short. I honestly thought someone might call in security. It was a mess.

Security did show up.

That's really awful. The APS staff has worked awfully hard on this, I think they have put more planning and thought into this proposal then other boundary proposals. Certainly, people can disagree- but there is never a reason to be abusive.

Ashlawn mom here in a PU that will stay Ashlawn. I am absolutely terrified of the McKinley moms coming to our school.

Many have tried. Out of control doesn’t begin to describe the behavior even towards other McK parents.

Is it just the one mentally-ill woman or is it a group?

Give me a break.

Can anyone indicate who we are talking about? 2nd and K parent? 3rd and 1st parent? Someone else entirely?

Don’t be. Most of them are lovely people. We have many friends at both schools and all will be well. Unfortunately this crackpot is headed your way, so yes, fear her.

Probably better not to try to identify someone.

Don’t worry unless you are in the ash lawn walk zone, you may be heading to Drew in 2021. Still loads of open seats.

I'd rather know who to avoid.

Drew? That makes no sense. Barrett or ASFS. But Ashlawn to Drew?

2nd I think. Although honestly most of us had never seen her before she showed up at the PTA meeting when the proposals were first discussed. She screams at our PTA president the same way she screams at the APS staff. And yes, she's likely headed to Ashlawn if the final boundaries come out the way I think they will.

Bahaha!!! No doubt. Poster meant Abington. Sounds a lot like tonight resembled their behavior when moving to Drew was suggested.

Would you give same stats to our high poverty schools?
