Can you even imagine being in her shoes? The whole damn world knows your personal business? Not to mention being in legal peril.

She didn't deserve to be a pariah forever. However, what she did was pretty bad. A married man and the president of the U.S.

She should have stayed over seas and moved on. She's only embarrassing herself now and once again her family.

She didn’t deserve to be a pariah at all and was the not the one abusing their position or cheating on their spouse. The worst thing she did was trust Tripp. She shouldn’t have to move, and profiting off what the public, Clinton, and the GOP did to her is not embarrassing. Good for her for taking control of the narrative.

Good for Tripp for doing the right thing. It exposed both of them.

Both were equally horrible people. Still are.

That’s a good one!

Double LOL!

She's even more of a opportunist than previously known!

Not to mention most know married people are off limits! Especially the president of the U.S.

I'm the PP who suggested Jenna Coleman, but I actually think Lucy Hale would have been perfect:

LOL, the GOP. How about mentioning Clinton’s team, you know, the people who smeared ML’s name all over the world…

I agree Monica is off - but boy did Sarah Paulson transform into Linda. So much about her character and lines that I love - and the suits and hair are dead on for the time.

I think Monica is the best thing about the show. She and Paula are the only ones who don’t feel like impersonations to me. Though Monica is a more complex character.

This second episode, where they are both being manipulated by older women with ulterior motives is very upsetting. Jones really was naive and innocent— she didn’t deserve her treatment by the press at all. And Monica was more savvy but SO YOUNG. And look at all the people around both of them who know exactly what is going on and are just exploiting the fact that these women don’t get it.

It’s just disgusting. Clinton was/is a sexual predator and serial harasser. That he was never held accountable is enraging. It makes me sick. And I’m liberal. But he deserved to be removed from office. He was a criminal.

This. Plus Bill and Hillary dragged Lewinsky's name through the mud to save themselves. I was enraged at the time. Although Lewinsky is no saint, she got worse than she deserved.

I still don't think what he did rose to the level of impeachable.

That said, yes, he needed to be held accountable for his actions towards all these women.

We had a different view of harassment 25-30 years ago. Not that it is a good thing-it just is the reality.

That said, we "elected" a man with 20+ accusations against him who was recorded talking about abusing women. So, maybe we haven't really gotten as far as one would hope?

+100
She really nailed it - the appearance *and* the mannerisms.

Am I the only one who remembers Bill Clinton (rightfully) taking most of the heat when this happened? I honestly don’t remember people blaming Monica. She was regarded as a naive pawn.

Yes, there were a million jokes, but it strikes me as revisionism how people are now claiming that Bill “got away” with it when he spent most of the second half of his presidency dealing with the fallout and being impeached.

I remember Monica Lewinsky being the butt of so many jokes. It must have been horrible to be her.

Yep. The butt of every late night show’s jokes. She was on the cover of magazines and tabloids, which called her fat and ugly and a slut. They interviewed people she slept with before she met Clinton. She must’ve had a lot of inner strength or some really good therapy because I don’t know how many people could live through something like that and make it out the other side.

Remember: Monica was sleeping with another married man when she was 19--the dad for the family she babysat for. It was a multiyear, ongoing affair. She was friends with the mom!

DM has an article about it. I had nearly forgotten that piece of her story.

Just as Bill was a serial cheater, she was a serial...I'm not sure what you call a young woman who sleeps with married men?

IS this appropriate to watch with a 14 year old? 11 year old?

How explicit is it?
