DM has an article about it. I had nearly forgotten that piece of her story.

Just as Bill was a serial cheater, she was a serial...I'm not sure what you call a young woman who sleeps with married men?

She invited drama into her life, but it’s hard to say why whether it’s need for attention, power, excitement, to feel desired or something else. She has spent the second half her adulthood recovering from what happened in the first part of her adulthood.

Maybe she was traumatized and has spent two decades recovering.

Or, perhaps she’s still the same and simply went all in on monetizing her plight/15 minutes of fame?

💯 she is a joy to watch on screen!

Agreed! Bring on the Emmy.

OMG - I had *completely* forgotten about the drama teacher affair! Wow. That does sort of dampen my sympathy for her. And in this show, she comes across as incredibly needy and almost unhinged in her obsession with Clinton. Which surprised me, considering she produced and advised on all details! I wouldn't think she'd let herself be portrayed that way.

How explicit is it?

It's actually not explicit at all - doesn't show any sex scenes. I think there is only one shot of Bill and Monica actually kissing. Someone mentioned the thong scene, but I must have completely missed it because I haven't seen that yet!

She put her hand on her side just enough to push the skirt down to show the top of the thong. Her top and bottom half were covered-it was just a tiny slice of skin shown between the top and bottom

However, it played in the show almost like an accident

A compassionate person would call her an abuse survivor; it’s probably what she was well before she encountered either of them.

I don’t understand why people on this thread are so hard on Beanie. She was absolutely terrific in the episode last night.

They are serious about the language warning though. Even my 17-year old, who wasn’t even paying attention, looked up in disbelief when one of the characters called another one a “m-f-ing c-s-er” last night. “Can they say that on TV?” she asked. I guess they can now!

Anything that isn’t local channels is full of cursing these days. FX has several shows that have been dropping the f bomb for years

Which episode was this? I haven't seen the thong scene yet.

It's not that she isn't a good actress. It's just that Monica was/is SO MUCH PRETTIER.

Yes, but that post was in response to someone asking if the show was appropriate to watch with tweens and young teens.

I agree with this. Monica wasn't really, really overweight, and had an elegance about her that Beanie can't quite replicate. I think it would be better if that actress had some of Monica's wow factor.
