the thing about Beanie (who I love, and only found out was Jonah Hill's sister from this thread - she was great in What we do in the shadows and Booksmart), is she doesn't have the mouth for the role.
The story on Bill Clinton was he went after women with wide, large mouths. I read some piece on this years ago and it's stuck with me - looking at pictures of women with whom he had things with, they always have large wide mouths, big smiles, full lips. I also agree Monica is beautiful - more so as she's aged, she's grown into her look. Beanie is fine, but doesn't have that sparkle or right look, particularly in her mouth. |
| I remember watching Monica Lewinsky's interview with Barbara Walters shortly after all this happened and being obsessed with her lipstick! I searched high and low for it and finally found something (a blog maybe? did we have those then?) with other women who were also obsessing over it. Got the name of it from them. It was a Club Monaco color. |
Right! Beanie has a pinched downturned mouth, whereas Monica’s was broad and open, big smile, like you said! And she stood tall whereas Beanie stands a little hunched over. Btw, loving Sarah Paulson’s Linda Tripp. I crack up watching her. |
| Anyone consider that maybe they wanted a more homely looking actress to play Monica to help support the victim narrative? |
Funny how you think Monica was in charge of casting. The project was well underway before Monica became involved. |
She really never played the victim until Metoo, she knew what she was doing and had already had an affair with a married man.. |
Totally agree it's bad casting in every way. |
Monica is (and was then) much more attractive. Not to much that she was never as overweight as they are depicting. She wasn't skinny, but certainly not fat.
|
| Monica also had/has a fun buoyant personality that is pretty much the opposite of Beanie. |
Exactly! I also agree that Monica was not overweight to the degree that Beanie is. She was voluptuous. Very different vibes. |
| I actually feel bad for Beanie now! |
Horrible casting choice for Monica. Someone like Jenna Coleman would have been infinitely better. Or even just an unknown who actually looked the part.
|
| NP. Or Camila Cabello.. |

Anyone else in their early 60s now, so in their prime then, and can relate to Linda Tripp’s ugly-but-necessary business suits? With the hose? Hysterical! Memories!

Monica was fuller figured at first, but not overweight
She did put on quite a bit through the ordeal and was teased relentlessly While she played her part in the mess she found herself in, I do understand how she found herself overeating as a comfort in such a traumatic time |
