LOL. Well in that case, you can’t fix stupid. Enjoy spending $6k funding other kids’ college pathways. Better hope your kid isn’t let go at season’s end or relegated to the NPL team, as has happened to others in the past.

That is too many and yet we have people on here telling us how Loudoun ECNL will now become a game changer. The only thing Loudoun adding ECNL is going to do is water down the ECNL some more purely because of the number of teams. More consolidation is needed and it may have to happen involuntarily. The best thing that could happen is that the 4 local GDA become 3 and the 6 local ECNL reduce to 3 as well (by combining with each other or with a GDA club). 6 "elite" options are plenty for our area and would truly be competitive with other parts of the country in both college commits and game play.

Fat chance any of this happens there is too much money to be made the way it is now with parents willing to pay obscene amounts of money for, in most cases, non-equivalent value.

Bobby said my 10-20 minutes a game will still get me recruited because the training environment at FCV is world renown. He said college coaches are looking for kids who are so soccer crazy that they want kids who are happy to just watch soccer being played.

TopHat is a great example of the strong GDA club, much better than any local club. Not really relevant to anyone here so apples and oranges. But even on TopHat you can probably guess who the starters here. The TopHat girls going to Mercer, Samford and Marshall are the bench players.

Since none of our DD's will ever play at TopHat, back to reality. Here is the point there are no FCV or BA bench players going to D1 school to play soccer. Evidence goes back to 2011 to prove this point.

Count the numbers of commits. If there are more than 11 to D1 schools, non-starters are getting D1 offers. Fairly simple.

Seems like you haven't watched many FCV games. Time is split fairly evenly with 75% or more of the roster. I know of 1 player that got less than 10-20 per game. She left.

Truth is that on most FCV rosters, every player would be playing 80-90 min with any other club in the area.

As I said, this area needs consolidation so that we have a TopHat type club option. IF that does happen, it won't be an ECNL club doing it unless the GDA disappears. The ECNL is turning into the old CCL - too many teams to be elite. The discussion was a sub on the top GDA teams vs. a starter on a non-GDA team. The evidence still shows that many of the subs at the top GDA teams (even in this diluted soccer area here) are getting equal or better exposure than most starters on non-GDA teams (including ECNL). You can ignore what is right in front of our eyes and just continue to post about how things are changing because clubs are changing their names, or moving to a new location or updating their websites.

I could see why 40 minutes is better than 80 or 90 then. That’s why we are staying. When we move to the St James I’ll have spent more time in the car riding to one weeks worth of practice than I’ll play in an entire season. Worth It!
