Is FCV just a girls club? I never hear anything about boys FCV. |
They have some boys teams. |
Not sure about “producing” but definitely “assembling” and in some cases recruiting entire teams away from the clubs that developed them up to the late middle school / high school ages. Their business model is geared towards finding the top talent for their top girls teams. They promote the “FCV way”. There is no such thing, or at least if there is, it is what I just described: “why develop, when you can recruit?”
Regardless of how they got there, their girl’s DA teams are excellent. |
What’s the FC stand for? |
Fitness Center |
Futbal club |
Agreed. Most of the girls come from loudoun or another club. On a DA roster of 18 only 1-3 of the girls has been w fCV since they were little. |
This is the kind of intentional misinformation that is put out here that should be reported and removed because it is intentionally deceptive. The allegation is false and the actual data has been posted on here before. Really isn’t that hard to find. https://www.fcvirginia.com/roster/show/4297624?subseason=524678 Same goes for the lies spread about other clubs, coaches and parents that you will read on these forums. Either some people are so bitter and envious that they will resort to flat out making thing up to make themselves feel better, or there are agendas at work here in all directions to damage the reputations or people and organizations. Every club has its problems - some have more than others. But if you’re on here spreading lies to make yourself feel better or to hurt others, YOU are a bigger problem |
Simply posting a roster of 18 year olds doesn’t make your case. You need to take each roster and show where the girls started and completed their u-little playing days. For example, the 2005 team has a large number of players that played those years at Loudoun soccer. The 2006 team has a significant number of players who played on the former ODFC state champion team and a few from Loudoun as well, etc... Those who had DDs played at FCV at u little ages can look at rosters and tell who was there at those ages and who wasn’t. If you feel people are lying, please post a more detailed list of each roster and the club each player played for from u9-u12. Once you do, you’ll realize how many players were recruited and not developed from early ages. Not that this is a bad or good value judgement, it’s just a fact. No need to start huffing hot air. |
If you clicked on the link you’d see that it shows how long each player has been with the club. Some have been there for years. Most of the top clubs recruit. Actually, good players will want to go to the best teams. They probably didn’t have to recruit much in the past. Things are different now with so many elite options for girls. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top. |
Again, it’s important to go through each roster. The original point was that FCV didn’t/doesn’t normally develop significant numbers of their u littles to their ECNL (now DA) rosters and that point is accurate. They do tend to keep the better players on, once recruited at u14. |
The guy doesn't want to click on the link because it shows that he is full of hot air like most of the blowhards on this forum. 15 of those players have been in the FCV system since 2012 or earlier. 18 and 19 year olds were a lot younger than 14 in 2012. If you actually cared about facts, you would have clicked the link and educated yourself. But you're a bitter and resentful person so you are not interested in education just spreading your misery. |
I clicked the link and also went to other age group rosters which coincidentally does not have that same information. Why is that? That's not a difficult piece of information for a club to figure out. |
