OP back with an update.

He texted this morning and asked if I was free this eve to chat on phone. I said sure, DD has an activity at 5:30. We're going to talk then. So he's either going to clarify things for me, or I'm getting dumped. Either way, I respect that he's following through, even if it's only to let me go. He seems like a standup guy, which is what I want. I'd like to see him again, so I'm hoping it's clarification and not a "Dear John" letter.

In the meantime...

I ran into a someone I spent a little time with last summer at the gym, this morning after dropping off DD. We never had anything serious; he's hot & in amazing shape but always came off as a flake so I never took him seriously. We chatted briefly and I mentioned some house projects I was doing; he said to let him know if I needed any help at the house. Then hugged me in a casual, good-to-see-you way and whispered in my ear "or with anything else". I stepped back, somewhat stunned. He winked, grinned, & walked away!

I'm telling you DCUM...when it rains, it pours. Gonna be hard for me to say no to hot-but-flakey-gym guy....cross your fingers that go-slow-military guy makes it happen.
