We are doing something wrong to women in our homes.

The real issue is you women treat your little boys like entitled kings, so why shouldn't they expect the same from your future daughters-in-law?

Think about it.

What does that have to do with more equal pay in Iceland and Ireland?

Um, how we parent our children has consequences, no?

Umm, ok, go on. Point to evidence of something. Are children raised more spoiled here than there? Then what?

Evidence is not required when you have "feels".

When children learn to respect others, they are more likely to become better adults. Agreed?

Yet oddly you seem to have no respect for boys, men or their parents. Logical assumption you were never taught respect. Pathetic

I have told my daughters repeatedly not to get married. Chances are too high they will marry some needy ManChild who ignores them, the house and the kids in order to hide out at the office and have no other responsibilities.

Frankly what I really should tell them is to either get married or have kids, but never both.

You are a very bitter and lonely person. She has apparently missed out on the whole little princess theme of daughters, they should be treated that way. The only problem is some, like you, never grow up and blame everything else for your short comings.

Why not address how you're teaching your son to respect you and other women and girls?

Apparently you are looking for the source of your failures in life. Pathetic and sad. Worry about yourself, you clearly have problems.

Keep being defensive.

Not defensive at all, just addressing a lonely bitter middle aged man hater that assumes parents don't teach boys respect. It must suck to be you

Keep being defensive.

Keep being offensive and posting single cell like nonsense. Getting through the day must be hard full of such hate and ignorance.

Look at actresses in the UK. There are many, many relatively normal looking women. In the US you must be a sex goddess.

Very good point. Appearance standards for young women are higher in the US now than they were 20-30 years ago. Young girls feel like they gave to look "perfect".

No they aren't, not even close. Look at the sheer number of obese women and girls it high hand keeps climbing. Female appearance 'standards" in the US are very low compared to the rest of the world.

Look at photos of celebrities from the 80's and 90's, particularly young women, and compare them with their current counterparts. Katie Holmes vs. Bella Hadid. The cast of 90210 vs. the cast of Riverdale. Teen girls today are fangirling celebrities with cosmetic dentistry, hair extensions, perfectly skinny yet muscled bodies, and high-end designer clothes. Teen celebrities 30 years ago were slender and pretty, but with soft bodies, natural features, and obtainable hair. Oh, and obesity is pretty much unacceptable if you're higher SES.

The obesity rates prove you are wrong. Girls were far more fit and put more effort in there appearance when I was young. I don't know where you grew up.

No. Show your fcking work. Are kids less respectful in this country than in others? Are adults worse in this country than in Sweden? If so, why is pay less equal?

Yes, I do think that traditionally Europeans are more respectful of each other than Americans are.

You clearly operate off of fantasy, I have lived in Europe for 10 years and travel there frequesntly, they are not more respectful. Your use of "traditional" is b.s., what does that even mean? You mean white, come out and say it. Sexist and racist, double dingbat.

You're angry with your husband or ex husband, and you rope the kids into it? That's pretty low.

In the 3rd installment, the ypung heroine becomes a pregnant and powerful MRS Sadist Grey, after she submitted to Mr. Grey in the first movie by being a masochist to his sadism.

Bingo, they want a rich man to take care of them and dominate them. Some try use the government as a substitute, Uncle Sugar will take care of me and punish me if I am bad. It should not be lost that the lead female character is a plain Jane.

If you were their roll model, that is probably great advice. Don't worry the boys wont miss them.

Funny how you think you know how I should respond. You have shown no capacity for a dialogue, so just keep running your little narrative. You'll learn nothing.

There are those "feels" again. A smart person would realize they have awful judgment in men and interpersonal relationships (obviously) and guide them to do better. The "feels" create a strong sense of victimhood rather than self realization. "Feels" can be contagious among DCUMs some infect their kids sometimes, poor kids.

Oh dear lord, you are talking about "capacity for dialog". Dialog is not possible with fanatical haters such yourself. That's funny. You seem to be the one with a narrative, about respect no less. Oddly you show no respect. You my friend are a hypocrite. And you are correct, I will learn nothing.............from you.

You realize they are going to one day deeply resent what you've done to them, don't you?

I believe the seeds of this message germinate in our homes, and then society. If we are serious about erasing gender inequality, we have to stop and take inventory of our behavior at home - and assess how those norms may be inadvertently sending our DH and DC the wrong messages.

A recent report by The World Economic Forum says that "equality is in retreat" for the first time since the group starting tracking the issue in 2006. The report, which examines gender imbalances in economics and the workplace, education, politics and health, found that years of global gains made by women are beginning to erode.

The U.S. slipped four spots to 49th out of 144 countries. It now ranks behind countries including the United Kingdom (15th), Australia (35th) and Bangladesh (47th). Back in 2006, the U.S. was in the 23rd spot. Here's the ranking of the best 10 countries for gender equality:

1. Iceland
2. Norway
3. Finland
4. Rwanda
5. Sweden
6. Nicaragua
7. Slovenia
8. Ireland
9. New Zealand
10. Philippines

Well, ladies, what are you waiting for? Rwanda and Nicaragua beckon.
