I would say no different from other top clubs. With the age shake I suspect there will be more slots to fill at those age levels. Also assume the kids in their current academy have a leg up of sorts.

On a side note we attended the SCAA tryouts. There was about 8 kids trying out for u9. 10 for u10 and 6 for U11.
I am sure most kids will make it. Will you see this as an opportunity to get more 1:1 training and more playing time? Or do you think the
Club is too young?

Club will have a tough time recovering from their deal with the devil. Those numbers won't support a team in each of those age groups, even if they do all make it and play for SCAA. You could benefit by the coach:player ratio, but how is the coach for that age group?

Elaborate on 'deal with the devil". I know nothing about these clubs. I don't live in the area.

I see smaller clubs branching off as the best thing for soccer in this area. Several have gotten too big and too cocky. They get away with murder due to their size. They know some sucker will always fill a spot so they don't have to try.

There were a lot of these splits back in the day and it kept everyone on their toes. It wasn't unusual for an Indedpendent to win a State title. I think the winds are beginning to shift and I support choice.

I guess another unknown. Fabian Vega was announced as the new commissioner and will also be the boys coach. Seems to have experience but have never seen him do any coaching. Perhaps someone else has?

Is PWSI any good at development at U9/10 ? Are they focused on winning at those ages ? Their website is lacking in details.

My son played in the U8 academy. Their focus was definitely on player development and their motto is on player development first which to me is the most important at that age.

See if this provide you more info on their program - https://bsbproduction.s3.amazonaws.com/portals/5977/docs/pwsi_pdi_implementation_townhall%20-feb2016-2.pdf

thanks that is helpful. I see they are planning on training three days a week which is good. Only down side to that would be the commute, they are not near us.

I am sucking it up a bit for better training and smarter coaches next year. It might add 10-15 minutes to our practice commute (but just 1-way). Against traffic on way home.

I have been flushing $ down the toilet for 2 years and won't do it for two kids.

Good point. We are considering sucking it up for another year and see how it goes but still attending other tryouts. My kids are in the area or commute out of the area and with the age shake up we dont know anyone to commute in with.

For the person asking about u9/u10 training for PWSI next season. The schedule has been posted.

Thought I would share

Thanks they emailed it to me today as well. I am impressed with how organized PWSI is at this point. Two other club tryouts had much less info and seemed to have most details for next year still unknown. Not sure the commute will be worth it but we will see what happens at tryouts and then decide.

How are the offers handled? I know they give out time limits but do people take it serious or do they continue to go try other clubs and decide?

Cynically speaking, the time limit is when the money is due.

we went to 2 tryouts. now im sad we didn't go to more to check out the competition around the area. Its actually kind of fun and if you don't care so much about making the team you learn lots of interesting details from the parents there. If it wasn't for the horrible traffic I'd totally have my kid try out for lots of clubs.

Agree very organized getting the schedules out to the parents etc. The 5pm practice times might be a deal breaker for me. I dont mind rushing but 2 times every week might be a stretch. Good luck with your tryouts.

Can anyone in the know answer whether it is still possible to start trying out for PAC travel soccer and receive an offer? I looked and they have started tryouts but still have a few dates left.

Yes.

Not sure what year your kid is, but FPYC is holding a few additional tryout sessions in June when most teams seasons should be done. http://fpycsports.com/travel-team-try-outs/
