Since I think I recall your asking about which college you should go to for a particular career I think your question is somewhat hypothetical. Your money's not being used, and once you're 18 you can vote for politicians who agree with you. At a more general level, public schools, welfare and other social protection programs, and the military, foreign aid, etc. are all things that our elected representatives have decided are worth the use of our tax dollars. Some things I agree with, some things I disagree with, but that's the way our government works. I can vote for people who I believe are likely to try to support the things I support, but if there are enough other people in Congress and the White House who disagree then my priorities are SOL. As far as gay marriage is concerned, the applicable body of our government (the Supreme Court) decided that given the way our laws are written there is no legal justification for not permitting it. Again, that's the way our government works. You are welcome to try to organize those who feel the same way you do to amend the Constitution accordingly. That's your right. |
OP here
It's VERY unlikely that Clinton will win the WH this year. If Trump or Cruz win, I'm staying here. You guys are right to say that if I don't like the laws, I should do something about them. That's why I will run for the U.S Senate. I hate both parties. Both are corrupt, and have NO morals. That's why Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are doing so well. People are SICK of the mushy middle. As I've said before, you guys can mock me all you want, but if I achieve my ultimate goal ( attending Harvard Law School) I will have plenty of conections and wealthy friends. This will set me up for a Senate run. You guys keep saying I won't get past the "good ole boy" in the primary. That may or may not be true. I am a very charasmatic speaker, and I actually have PRINCIPLES. That's what will differ me from the scum in the GOP. I am on the Far-Right. I realize many of you are on the Left. I thought Liberals wanted "diversity" Well how about we respect each other instead of throwing dumb insults at each other? If Far-Left views( like those of Bernie Sanders and Liz Warren) are acceptable, then Far-Right views should be tolerated as well. I recommend you read Spangler's Decline of the West. |
I feel like you are Ted Cruz 30 years ago and everyone secretly hates you and wants to punch you in the face. Based solely on your writing and logical thinking skills I would say I think Harvard Law is a stretch. |
I will be taking an intensive writing course in the summer to get my writing up to par. My logic is fine. Your view of my ideology has nothing to do with my logic. I will turn all of my attention toward academics in undergrad. I have a very high ceiling acadmcilay. The reason my grades are a bit low is because I can get lazy and lose focus at times. If I put my focus on academics in undergrad, I'll get Ito Harvard Law. |
Even if you get to HLS, everyone else there is also fining for a career in politics but, unlike you, will put in 10 years as a leg aide and party volunteer. |
I'm going to volunteer for whoever the GOP nominee is this year. I'm more than willing to put 10 years in as a leg aide. Much more interested in corporate law though. What makes you say everyone at HLS wants politics? I'd think most of them would want to be lawyers. |
No your logic is flawed and you have answered no one who has critiqued it. Tell me, oh logical 18 year old, how a system that allows people to pay for only the taxes it believes in works? Does everyone pay for roads or only people with cars? If no one is paying to feed the poor children or elderly is the government paying to take care of their bodies after they die? Who is going to grow up to be your doctor when you're old and dying of cancer if we don't educate today's children? What happens when 60% of the country doesn't believe in wars. Do we just leave ourselves undefended? Do you fill out a sheet every year with your personal beliefs and then have your tax dollars allocated accordingly? Is it ok if I want to fund abortions with my tax dollars? Tell me how it would work and then I'll give you credit for some semblance of logic. |
OP, if you are intellectually able to get good grades and test scores, why haven't you? Do you not place value on hard work? How old are you that you feel you have the luxury of blowing off your studies and are still sure of your success?
You do not value work ethic in yourself, compassion for people experiencing hardship, or civil rights struggles, so I'm kind of at a loss as to what makes you worth respecting, much less voting for. Your writing is truly awful and your logic is predicated on a series of flawed assumptions about American governance. |
OP - Be prepared to get your ass kicked at HLS. |
OP, I have paid hundreds of thousands of $ in taxes over my lifetime. That tax $ helped to educate your sorry ass, and this is what my tax $ has to show for it? I want my $ back from you or your parents. |
Have you looked at the profiles of US Senators? http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/how_many_jd_are_in_congress/ |
Just to echo some other posters, you don't get to pick and choose. Also you should educate yourself about what actually happens with your tax dollars before you start complaining about social programs, which is actually very little of your money owed each year. $59 billion, 3 percent of the total federal budget, for regular welfare and $92 billion, 5 percent of the total federal budget, for corporations. So, the government spends almost 50% more on corporate welfare than it does on these particular public assistance programs. Only 10% of your federal tax dollars go to safety net programs, the majority of it goes to 1.) Social Security and 2.) Medcaid, with Defense taking 3rd place http://www.cbpp.org/research/federal-budget/policy-basics-where-do-our-federal-tax-dollars-go |
OP, polls show Clinton beating Trump in the general election. There is another conversation to be had about the accuracy of polling and the vulnerability of Clinton, but your statement that its "VERY unlikely" that she will win is not borne out by any data currently available. Will you be old enough to vote in this election? |

Op is clearly an idiot. And surprise, Ireland doesn't WANT you. |
