Are there any EOTP elementary schools (non-charter) that are great past K?

Let's see, I am a 12 minute walk to Eastern Market and a 5 minute walk to Maury. I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that the entire zone is walkable to Eastern Market, and a big chunk is 15-20 mins.

Ooooookay. I love Maury, but it's good on its own. You don't have to pretend to be in a different part of the neighborhood than you actually are.

I just don't think you really understand about people's internal geographies. Most Maury families can easily walk to Eastern Market and consider it part of their neighborhood, and frequently walk or bike there to shop, drink coffee, catch the metro. Do you feel offended somehow that people are claiming a geographic label you don't think they deserve? That is odd.

Of course they do, not saying that at all. It's not 10-15 min though. No reason to embellish.

As to the comments about H St being useless for families: that's comically untrue. We would love to have more retail on H but the family friendly dining options are amazing.

There are lots of family friendly dining options in Petworth and Columbia Heights now too. What's the point?

Did you not read the thread? There's someone on here claiming no one with kids would want to live near H Street cin pointing out that my neighborhood is crawling with kids.

It is absolutely not crawling with elementary school kids in the older grades. aka, "past K"

stroller brigade ....

Well, that's really not true. I have two elementary kids, one upper. Next door are two elementary kids, one upper. Less than a block away are three different families with middle schoolers (Basis, Latin, St Peters). I don't know whether you are just unfamiliar or are trying to make some point, but this neighborhood is full of school age kids.

It's 15 min for a pretty big chunk! 20-30 for the rest.

OK cap hill folks, can we please let this thread go back to topic? Not sure if there is anything else to talk about though as there are about 4-5 schools that OP has already been notified about.

You guys sound like Virginia commuters who all claim a 20 minute commute.
