I'm a Capitol Hill booster but let's be honest, the vast majority of the Maury boundary is not a 15 minute walk to Eastern Market. The far western boundary, maybe, but otherwise, no.
Let's see, I am a 12 minute walk to Eastern Market and a 5 minute walk to Maury. I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that the entire zone is walkable to Eastern Market, and a big chunk is 15-20 mins.
Ooooookay. I love Maury, but it's good on its own. You don't have to pretend to be in a different part of the neighborhood than you actually are.
I just don't think you really understand about people's internal geographies. Most Maury families can easily walk to Eastern Market and consider it part of their neighborhood, and frequently walk or bike there to shop, drink coffee, catch the metro. Do you feel offended somehow that people are claiming a geographic label you don't think they deserve? That is odd.
Of course they do, not saying that at all. It's not 10-15 min though. No reason to embellish.
New poster. It is 10 to 15 minutes for me. We live very close to the school.
