It doesn’t matter. But kids of liberal parents will attend schools located in red states so the point is moot.

some, not all

and it is probably the same on the other end.

Whatever - we can factor in whatever the heck we want towards searching/deciding. Some kids want the coolest mascot or best school colors. Why the heck do people care if these factors are political?

This thread was originally started asking about factors in NC and LA for 2 particular schools. And this person has gotten maybe 10 helpful responses.

But the original question is a stupid and purposely antagonistic one. What difference does it make to OP what other people’s kids are doing?

I did go back and look and saw that it did ask if you considered political factors. The simple answer should be yes or no. Not people going off about snowblowers and poisons injected into the body.

Red states are dangerous. So, no. Not going there.

My senior has Tulane (Louisiana) and Wake Forest (NC) on her list - along with many schools in New England. Does the state/state political climate factor into your son/daughter's decision about where to attend?

Choose wisely.

Or New York or Boston! Very, very dangerous for the MAGAs.

First kid went to school in UK 10 years ago.
2nd one saw that was a real viable option and in 2018 during Trump MAGA v1, went to a school in Italy.

My 3rd is now applying to schools in the UK.

Just very happy that they are getting away from this Shit show….

We are multi-ethnic foreigners living in the US and my kids are dual citizens. I would rather not send them to a conservative state, even if the university is in a liberal city in that state, because it takes away a layer of protection. The state can try to impose restrictions on their cities.

My oldest is at GWU in DC. There are so many college choices, here and abroad, that I am not worried about curtailing some of their options by declining to look at conservative states. Money is not a factor.

We are not actually very left-leaning, but we are worried about racism and xenophobia traveling in and out of the university.

I lean more right than left and, at times, find it silly that people won't let their daughters apply to school in a red state due to abortion laws. We all know accidents happen but it's kind of like going into a marriage assuming divorce. Regardless, I appreciate the answer of this PP. I think it makes a lot of sense and is a wise decision on her part.

We abhor MAGAs.

Well bless your heart.

I agree never ever to any red state.

Only idiots who have never read Project 2025 will do so. I can not wait for their DD to be breeders, not to leave the state. Yep you didnt' read the state laws or Project 2025 idiots.

This poster and her craze over 2025 only spreads hate and discontent. She's all over all threads and is so identifiable that she's basically just creating her own echo chamber.

Thanks, Karen.

Of course you responded that way. Another MAGA cult of stupid answer.

Red states are 100% changing their laws and they are horrifying. Age of consent is going away fool. Women will be cattle but of course you never read Project 2025 "men head of household" "no prexisting conditions""maternity homes". TN Republicans temporarily attempted to eliminate all limits on marriage age. They will put this legislation up again and it will pass. "interstate travel for women of child bearing years to be eliminated" states of AL, AK, TX, FL, MO, MS are all preparing to create laws that are not favorable to women.

You seem really, really out of sorts by this issue. May I suggest that professional counseling could be helpful to you?

Typical idiot MAGA answer. You have been brainwashed by a pathetic low class loser with a mafia complex. I believe you need the therapy. Turn off the Fox News and remember the core values of decency you hopefully learned in kindergarten and that I would hope your parents taught you. Or else either your parents were also losers or they are rolling over in their graves at what a horrible child they raised. You are an embarrassment.

Waiting for another witty remark scripted by Murdoch.

You are the problem. You are all the problems. That's it. Not witty, just correct.

Yes, yes it does affect DD's choices. No worries though, there are still plenty of schools (and states) to choose from.

Sorry, some of us have lived experience of discrimination in those states. I'm glad you did not, but please do not assume we all look like you or present in the same way.

"Lived experience" that's a phrase you'll never hear in a top-tier fraternity house.
