Where are all of these well-maintained older women? The way some of you sound it's like most cities are crawling full of Gabrielle Unions and Salma Hayeks.

Or maybe find a stock internet photo of what you're seeing out there. Cuz I'm not seeing it.

A well maintained older woman in her 40-early 50s would look like a late 30s woman. You won’t realize the true age.

Lisa Ling is 51. No one is mistaking her for a late 30s woman. Constance Wu is 43 and could pass for 35. Ali Wong looks about her age.

There are definitely celebrities who look 10+ younger than their age and can be better examples. For example, Martina’s wife, Yulia.

To me she looked like early 30s in her mid 40s and before all the surgery:

https://www.thecut.com/2014/11/beauty-secrets-from-a-russian-skin-care-expert.html

JLo looks in her mid 50s like an early 40s or even late 30s American woman (of course, there is good cosmetic surgery involved)

https://brightside.me/articles/dermatologist-reveals-4-real-reasons-why-jennifer-lopez-53-doesnt-age-and-its-more-than-plastic-surgery-or-products-811333/

Vanessa Trump can pass for a late 30s when she’s not overusing Botox. She’s a stunningly well maintained woman (after 5 kids!)

https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/celebrity/who-is-vanessa-trump-tiger-woods-b1216774.html

I meet many women like that who use sports, cosmetic surgery and skills to look great for their age. Men? Not really.

Those women don't look 10 years younger even with surgery, filters and photoshop. The best you could say is that they look good for their age.

People still have Golden Girls in their mind. I swear no one has a consistent modern idea of what 30, 40, or 50 looks like.

And men in particular have no idea. Again, I’m not sure how we’ve got to discuss ages. I’m attracted to “silver fox” types - both male and female. For example, Charlotte Rampling looks sexy to me at any age.

Try younger men.

Especially teeth, nasty feet with long toenails and tufts of hair growing from ears.

OP here: I am indeed attracted more to early 40s men. But they all have emotional or character features that push me away. Men are not interesting to me as romantic partners, I don't feel I can rely on them, share life with a male etc. It's mot just sexual. But my sexual desire is very dependent on how they make me feel in the relationship

This is very understandable. You've tried this with men and had not great experiences. But you haven't with women, so it's easy to idealize them and their character and emotions. So maybe you should try dating women?

I haven't dated women but I have very good long term women friends. They certainly provided more support, positive emotions and quality time than any men I ever dated. I don't feel sexual towards any of my girlfriends but I wonder if I met a woman and she was both to me: an intimate partner AND the best friend I could rely on?

Going down on a woman, sleeping with her is not repulsive to me: actually, I phantasize about it often

Friendship is a different dynamic than a romantic sexual relationship. You sound bi but you're also really idealizing women. Start dating!

Great. Can dcum guess the age of the pictured woman ?

I guess about 70. She has bad bunions and disformed toes.

She has prominent nasialabial folds and her hairline has receded. It feels crummy to point these things out but there are always “tells” on aging.

I definitely find women more attractive as I get older, but it doesn't really make me want to date them. Sounds like you might be open to it now, and that's ok. A few of my friends are bi or pan. Maybe give it a try?

Middle aged men aren't always in the best shape, so I get it. My current BF does not have a good body and the last one didn't either. Both are pretty unsightly when naked. It's a bummer because I work hard to stay in shape. But current BF is at least very good in bed and a lot of fun outside of it, so I've had to accept that people aren't perfect and you don't get everything you want.

I've been seeing this kind of comment a lot. I don't get it. Men and women have about the same waist size.

Maybe it's just hard for a fit person to find similarly fit partner. My waist is 28 inch, BMI 21. I can't force myself sleep with men who have bellies or overweight. At the same time, I find women who are slightly chubby attractive. Maybe because they have bigger butts and belly is not that noticeable? I don't know

It's BS. I would think that Hailey Bieber is early 40s, based on this photo. Same "folds" that she tries to cover with foundation. It's just you knew the pictured woman is someone's mother, and you logically infered the age. If she had all the make up, hair done, and you didn't know the true age, she can easily be mistaken with "US average" mid 50s woman.

Why are we talking about photos? Photos can be manipulated. In the real world, people are able to see each other in 3D and all the fine lines and grays can't be as easily concealed.

You are really invested in thinking this woman’s age doesn’t show. You are likely focusing on obvious things like waist size, hair color, wrinkles. But you are wrong. As I said, there are always tells on aging.

Thought it was commonly understood that people who find women sexually attractive prefer them with softness -ie, a little extra weight.

Hailey Bieber does look older than her age, but doesn’t mean that the woman in the picture looks young(er).
