Plot armor. She will survive anything until she reunites with Spencer. Then she will get a splinter at the Yellowstone and die. |
Maybe the rabid wolf comes back to life to kill her. |
That's why we have to keep watching! |
What food and supplies did they bring on their road trip? They didn’t think to pack warm blankets and furs? |
They brought a small flask. I didn't notice anything else. |
Well. When she arrived she was four months pregnant Her trek Montana is probably a good month so she should be five months gone and should be showing by now but isn't and she never had morning sickness. She has had zero pre natal care. |
Also she was drinking whiskey with Hilary in the car. It’s possible they didn’t have prenatal care in the 1920s. I don’t know if they knew drinking was bad for the baby either. But she should be showing by now. |
The driver's wife had a fur coat on, Alex had a blanket. Hmm? I would think the fur coat would be warmer. |
The story is completely ridiculous, but so is the idea of modern pre-natal care and abstaining from drinking in 1920. Yes, there was prohibition, and they probably had illegal hooch, but drinking liquor or making a small personal batch wasn't illegal. It was the sale and manufacture of booze that was illegal. Given how skeletal Alex is and that this is her first pregnancy, it isn't so surprising that she's not showing -- assuming she didn't miscarry somewhere off camera. |
FYI if you stay up until midnight you can watch the new episode. |
Just watched it. Are you kidding me? Spencer and Alex reunite for like 5 minutes…and then they kill her off? And Spencer leaves his wife while she goes on to the hospital and gives birth at 6 months into the pregnancy alone…so he can go shoot up the bad guys.
Unbelievable. |
Men sticking around for a birth was not a routine thing. Not even in the 1970s or 1980s. |
And yet Jacob was actually in the room. Spencer didn’t know she was going to give birth. And if he did he could have waited in the waiting room. He did know she was in bad shape though and was heading to the hospital. And yet he still chose to leave her. |
Horrible. TS realized he needed 10 episodes and the network stuck with 8, so he created terrible filler episodes for most of season 2. This season could’ve been done in 2-3 episodes. The drawing out about the rabies shots, unnecessary; the violence against Alex every episode, unnecessary; the sadism of Whitfield with the prostitues over every episode, unnecessary. Every one of those things could have been dealt with in an episode and benefited from tighter writing. The whole season seemed LAZY. We get that the life in the old west was hard, that violence was everywhere especially for the naive, women, and minorities. TS should be fired and the next prequel cancelled. Lazy, lazy, lazy, and insulting. |
Jacob had his own medical issues. Better be there than else where. |
