Almost finished episode 3, where Alex came to the US by boat and had to get inspected naked. Good God that was so creepy with the male doctor - who didn’t use gloves and put his whole hand inside her to check for “venereal diseases.” This is certainly not the feel good romance stuff we got last season.

Also what is up with that whiny wife not wanting the rabies shots? She’s so pathetic!

Also, I hate and am disgusted by the sexual abuse/rape/imprisonment storyline with the one prostitute. It adds absolutely nothing to the plot - completely gratuitous. I'm just over it for entertainment purposes.

The only storyline I am interested in is Spencer and Alex, but barely.

I’m not even looking forward to this season anymore.The rape/sa storylines are completely unnecessary and was a huge turn off.

Except she didn’t know that before the first shot and was already resisting. I thought maybe she was pregnant and that’s why she didn’t want the shots - bc it would harm the baby. But nope. She’s just a wimp.

"Shot"? Like one?

Nope. It was a series of 12-14 shots. And "at the time" continued at least through the 1980s. I don't know when the single shot rabies treatment was developed but it wasn't long ago.
