I’ll vote for the candidate that supports mine.

You are for free choice, right? My body, my vote.

You do you. slavery was " legal" in the slave states and lots of candidates supported that position.

You are equating abortion with slavery? Ok, weirdo.

Nope, they're not equal. The point is some rights are fundamental to human beings like freedom and deciding what I'm going to do with my own reproductive decisions.

Technically, the state compelling the use of one’s body against their will is slavery.

What about when your son gets sent off to war?

Abortion is to “healthcare,” as slavery is to “human resources.”

Slavery is wrong. So are abortion bans.

Slavery is wrong. So are elective abortions.

A woman's reproductive choices belong to her and always have and always will. It is a private matter and not for you.

It is extremely rare and always for a heartbreaking catastrophic reason. This has been explained over and over and over again.

It is not extremely rare and it is not always for a catastrophic reason. As has been shown over and over on this board, third trimester abortions have been had over things like fights with a boyfriend to financial issues to delay in seeking care. No matter how much you want what you say to be true, it simply isn’t.

How often does that happen after week 28 (beginning of third trimester) vs terminating earlier? Where are the clinics that will terminate after week 28? Even when it’s a life threatening issue it’s hard to find a clinic or doctor who will terminate at that point as opposed to doing a c section or inducing. There are maybe 2 or 3 clinics at most who offer such a procedure in all of the US.

The reality is doctors do not want to do third trimester abortions.

No, that’s not “the reality.” The reality is that third trimester abortions are performed for the saddest reasons possible, they drop off precipitously from 21-24 weeks (after the 20 week ultrasound and sometimes other tests to confirm) and I do not understand why forced birthers are ducking obsessed with them.

The documentary After Tiller should be required viewing. The very few doctors who do this are so overbooked someone without a compelling need does not make it through the door.

Mostly because they don't want to be killed like Tiller, shot in church by "pro life" activists. The ones who do it fear for their lives daily after multiple incidences of their families being targeted.

Aborted fetuses. No.

Great, so we now agree abortions are not equal to slavery.

Your analogy is flawed.

Does nobody think about the ramifications of their actions until it affects them individually? Southern states are trying to ban abortions in all instances - rape, incest, health of the mother. Not voting for Trump, but think the hysterics (pun intended) are hyperbole. Republican women are not much different from Democrat women. I believe that reasonable policies will take place. I also believe Roe was bad precedent for ruling from the Ben h in many issues, and have asked for decades if this was so important why wasn’t it legislated or put in the constitution. Politicians should have continued to debate until there was a resolution among them.

Reasonable policies lead to Amber Thurman’s death and her young son’s being motherless.

The Supreme Court interprets the constitutionality of our laws. They’re the highest court in the land and the final authority. The SC ruled in Roe that women have the right to abortion access. After 40+ years of Roe being the law of the land, all 3 of Trump’s SC nominees said they considered it to be settled law. Why would Congress debate settled law? The people who need to explain themselves are the ones who threw out precedent they indicated was settled.

Amber Thurman died of a botched legal abortion, not because of withholding an abortion FFS.

Harris said no religious exceptions. She wants to force Catholic doctors and hospitals to perform abortions.

Good. In some places, the only hospital is unfortunately a Catholic hospital. And now that the conservatives have gotten rid of any abortion clinics, it is what it is.

Just because you are Catholic, doesn't mean the rest of us are. Leave us alone, give us a choice, and you can do what you want.

Because they don't have any critical thinking skills. Those babies are maybe going to survive hours or months, and the parents are going to end up medically bankrupt in many cases, impeding their ability to have another child.

Used to be a single issue pro choice voter but no longer. Pro-choice groups went way too far left the past few years on this and have done a good job convincing me that I no longer agree much with them. Now it’s probably issue number 4 or 5 on my priority list.

Yes to all of this, and I like babies.
