How common is it to not shave legs/underarms...

Unshaven pits on young women are disgusting and smelly.

Plus, teens carry their phones 24/7. You you really want your daughter’s hairy pits shared all
Over snap-chat, so she becomes the laughing stock of her whole Social community?

Most young women who have the confidence to go against the grain really don’t give a sh*t what the normies are doing on Snapchat. It says way more about how bored, pathetic, and terrified of not conforming those kids are. They need to get a life.

And on young men, what are they?

But why aren't they disgusting and smelly on men?

And the fact that you you use Snapchat as a reason for young woman to shave says A LOT about you.

Honestly, shaving is a very strange obsession. If you think about really. It's dumb. We have hair and using razors to constantly remove it - in what the last century at most for only a few countries in the world. Most cultures do not shave. America is weird

We were at a farm with kids' rides and there were a couple of young women in bikini clothing walking around with their asses hanging out. It would have been even more gross to have their hair showing too. I didn't see any men with asses out though! I am sure in some cultures people go about free and naked unshaved but in most of the world people are dressed in appropriate clothing so no need to shave.

I don’t know of any teens that wax legs and underarms. I think that has definitely gone out of favor unless if it is a part of your culture ( Middle Eastern, maybe others?)

All 3 of my white (non-middle eastern) daughters wax their bikini area completely bare (Brazilian). So do all their friends (according to them). Dc kids. In the popular, non-alt group. I don’t think you can say what is in favor or not. It depends on the group of peers.

That’s been a thing for awhile but I didn’t think girls were doing it as much anymore. They do it for boys because boys are the only ones who see it. When they get older they’ll find that a lot of men like pubic hair.

WTF? Has nothing to do with the hair.

From Google:

Hair can trap sweat and bacteria, providing an environment for odour to develop. Removing or trimming body hair could help reduce bacterial growth and improve the effectiveness of deodorant or antiperspirant.

+1 this. How do you people not know this?! This is basic!

Then why haven't men been pressured into shaving their armpits?
Explain to me why this is not an arbitrary double standard?

+1

A quick search looks like it started in the early 20th century. Maybe it's taken 100+ years for women to ask why this is still a beauty "requirement." And yeah, if it's about hygiene, why aren't men also shaving?

Societal norms are not going to evolve into men shaving pits or legs, but maybe they're changing so women don't don't feel required to shave to be accepted.

I rarely see men with really hairy armpits anymore. Most seem to trim.
But yeah, people should do whatever they wish.

All kinds of men like it. I've had more than one boyfriend ask me to grow mine out.

Girls and woman do what they want now. Playing by men’s rules no longer applies. The woman that continue to judge like men are the issue. Grow up

Not shaving any body parts started in the 60s or 70s with the “dirty hippies” as they were called back then. It’s nothing new. It’s about a small amount of females not practicing the same grooming as the majority of females.

They were just called hippies.

I’m not a fan of hairy armpits on women, but men don’t shave their armpits and they don’t smell. I mean some do of course, but many don’t.

Men who have hairy armpits most certainly smell and look gross. I hate it when they got shirtless
