No clue who that is |
She was assisting U15 USYNT in the west coast recently. |
CD is a better at player development, this is a big win for incoming U9 and the U10 kids. JJ would have continued to set the club back, had no ability to develop players or correctly evaluate talent. |
Agree with this. Appreciate that the club is putting forth an effort to hire and retain strong coaches in certain age groups. However, I a disappointed by the continued push to keep the DCSC coaches that moved to ASA at the high levels. SM, KH and MB should not be top team coaches. |
Agree on coach swapping. |
Who would you have take their places? |
| I'd be remiss if I didn't stand up for JJ in saying he definitely cared about the kids. He's a good guy and we shouldn't question his character at all. His management of the team, lack of communication and general penchant for avoidance rather than addressing issues was the problem in my view. Great talent in 2014B that didn't develop as it should. That's an opinion and perhaps others could disagree, but things need to improve. Let's see what happens. |
Such a clown comment. GTFO of this tread. |
Sorry, I just stridently disagree about JJ. I know he has been with the club for 10 years or thereabouts, so I do not doubt at all that he was, at some point, an upstanding coach who cared about the kids. But I did not see one iota of that in the last year. All of us—coaches, parents, whoever—are unhappy with club politics for one reason or another. And I’ve heard some of the more specific complaints from other ASA coaches. But only one acted like he was there solely to collect a paycheck. Now your second point about the club needing to improve coaching, +10000 on that. JJ’s former players are now mostly spread out amongst next year’s pre-A and red teams. Hardly anything will happen until the fall season starts in earnest, but of the little I’ve heard or seen so far, I will give JJ one thing—he definitely was not a flake. Yes, let’s see what happens! |
What does this even mean? Not a flake? |
| Does Arlington have any good coaches? Always see comments about bad coaches. Would love to hear about any of the good ones in hopes to get my child to be on their team. |
gender & age of child? |
| Every coach has some families that love them and some absolutely hate them. We have had great experience with coaches except 1-2 but that’s more of clashing in personality and the coach. |
| You only see negative reviews of ASA coaches cuz you’re on DCUM 😂 Most of our kids’ coaches have been pretty good, with 2 exceptions (both name-dropped in this thread at some point), one of whom left. That’s out of maybe 8 or so total, including coaches for travel clinics, off-season activities, et al but not rec. |
I can’t and won't gripe with this. Definitely mailed it in. Big year for ASA 2014B up and down the teams. Let's see what the club does. |
