How has Karl Frisch raised $371,559 for his campaign, when . . .

And you're moving my child to a new school why exactly?? We didn't ask for this, we just asked for rezoning to relieve some congestion and guess what? Post Covid our school isn't even overcrowded anymore. Dunn Loring is a HUGE waste of money. That's why I don't like this guy. NOT because of his sexuality, I don't give a shit who he loves. I do give a shit that he's in this for his OWN interests and not the community's interests.

Great. I'm glad you don't. But there are many, many parents who do. And their politics come out every time a Moms for Liberty group wants to ban a book. It's scary bad.

NOPE. You need to stop.People here have said they have issues with what he has done on the school board, not with his sexual orientation. I am a die hard liberal, I am all for the equity initiatives and other things that right wing nut jobs go on and on about here. What I'm not for is some selfish a-hole joining the school board solely because he wants to further his own political career. And I am sure he's not the only one on the school board in this position. I just know the most about him because I live in his district.

I don’t actually mind the naked political ambition, what I am against is doing a bad job. Advance all you want, but on the basis of actually being a benefit.

He isn’t doing that.

Then talk about that. When all you guys have to complain about is how he’s raising so much money (and it’s from small donors too so idc!) that shows you don’t have anything concrete to criticize him on.

I admire it. He is very committed to the work despite all this hate. Nobody cares about school board until you have something to complain about.

Do you know he was ready to quit the school board during his current term when a space in the House of Delegates opened up? He lost the primary and that’s why he is still on the school board. That is not someone who is “committed to the work.”

It is though. Having more former FCPS board member in the general assembly is going to be great because they will actually try to fix the funding formula that disadvantages Fairfax county.

We do not need school board members to advocate for school funding at the state level. There are many delegates and senators who do that and can do that. This school board has not done a good job and has made some very questionable decisions. Frisch especially did his community a real disservice by diverting bond money away from the need.

Most of Fairfax delegation to the general assembly will just brag “5% salary increase for teachers yay” when it’s FCPS who has to pay for the majority of that. Having former school board members in the GA like Kaye Kory is extremely helpful as they actually understand the state impact on school budgets.

The Fairfax delegation is very aware of the state impact on school budgets. There is zero need for former school board members to be at the state level when they did a poor job on the school board.

This is an opinion. Not a fact. And many disagree on this point.

+1000.

Karl Frisch is committed to (1) Karl Frisch; (2) Karl Frisch's political allies; and (3) the LBGTQIA community. Kids do not matter to him one iota, unless they also happen to be LBGTQIA. He has not been an advocate for all kids in his district.

So you think that just because he’s gay he only cares about gay people?

OFC that's what the PP and other like him/her think. That's plain from the comments on here.

YOU are the only person saying this. YOU and I'm sure you're sock puppeting. There's been no anti-gay statements here except for the trolls and sock puppets.

Seriously. Like the guy needs more money or will win more votes with more money. If he loses it won't be because of money. All you did was show how elite you are to throw money away and/or how stupid you are.

Thanks for the endorsement of our Democratic delegation.

They knew kids needed to be in school and that areas of the state and country who got them back in person weren’t experiencing mass death, but they insisted on dragging their feet until it became politically untenable.

They knew bond money should not have been diverted and they did so anyway.

Knowing and acting correctly in knowledge are very different.

Having adequate funding isn’t enough when they insist on wasting it.

Knowing what works in education isn’t enough when they refuse to act on the knowledge.

Maybe it’s not such a shoe-in for Frisch. After all, his money didn’t help him in the House of Delegates primary. He got whipped. I’m a Republican who voted in that primary just to have a chance to vote against him.

No problem! I’m a Democrat. I just don’t think our current school board members did a good job.

The only reason he lost that caucus was because Republicans infiltrated it.

Lots of respondents to this post have been. You just like to play dumb.

I don't think it's very ethical to collect this much money for a school board election and don't want to set a precedent for others to feel they have to raise this much money.
