It’s so weird to me that he would want to run and multiple times. What type of person wants to do that when none of their life revolves around education or kids?
I admire it. He is very committed to the work despite all this hate. Nobody cares about school board until you have something to complain about.
Do you know he was ready to quit the school board during his current term when a space in the House of Delegates opened up? He lost the primary and that’s why he is still on the school board. That is not someone who is “committed to the work.”
It is though. Having more former FCPS board member in the general assembly is going to be great because they will actually try to fix the funding formula that disadvantages Fairfax county.
We do not need school board members to advocate for school funding at the state level. There are many delegates and senators who do that and can do that. This school board has not done a good job and has made some very questionable decisions. Frisch especially did his community a real disservice by diverting bond money away from the need.
Most of Fairfax delegation to the general assembly will just brag “5% salary increase for teachers yay” when it’s FCPS who has to pay for the majority of that. Having former school board members in the GA like Kaye Kory is extremely helpful as they actually understand the state impact on school budgets.
The Fairfax delegation is very aware of the state impact on school budgets. There is zero need for former school board members to be at the state level when they did a poor job on the school board.
Thanks for the endorsement of our Democratic delegation.
No problem! I’m a Democrat. I just don’t think our current school board members did a good job.
