| I was overjoyed when he got spanked in that special election. Would have loved to see the look on his face. |
You definitely don’t have kids, nor the maturity of a 49+ years old. Parents don’t see the privilege and blessing of having children as spawning. Anyone who regards raising children as a distraction should not be entrusted with any serious work, let alone anything related to school policy. My brother and his wife don’t have children. I take into consideration their advice on issues other than the rearing of my kids. We are aware Frisch’s husband is a teacher. During the lockdown he reminded us of that every time he advocated for remote learning and voted to keep our schools closed to protect teachers like his husband. Our children had “more skin” than his husband, and actually the right to in-person learning. He could have taken leave if he was so concerned about his health. In fact, his “inside knowledge” hasn’t done him any favors because he seems clueless as to the pressing need to recover from the learning loss. |

Inside knowledge for Frisch involves voting for what his husband wants.
How about actual knowledge? It makes no sense to me to vote for someone to run our school system who has no training and experience in education. I would much prefer if there were some rule regarding having a bachelor’s or masters degree in an area of education. That would really put the proper focus of our schools on education. |
| This current board has been very good for the local private schools. |
So true lol. |
He partner is the teacher https://karlfrisch.com/meet-karl/ |
100% - looking now to get out of FCPS |
sounds right about. FCPS enrollment has dropped by 9-10,000 students since just before COVID. |
He has no kids in school ever. Doesn't have kids. Hasn't earned a bachelor's degree! I wish I had an alternative. I'm planning to just under-vote that race. |
| He also didn't attend FCPS. It's disgusting that people are willing to give him money when he has no business being on this board. |
How long did he live in this county before entering the school board race originally? |
| About 14 years. |
I thought he ran a year or so after leaving DC. Maybe he lived there briefly? |
|
Ok his website says he grew up in LA and moved to the “national capital region” in 2004.
That would be about 14 years before running for school board, but it’s interesting that his site won’t specify how long he has lived in the county. |

You are totally out of line. I didn't have kids until I was 42 but I was fully invested in my community and fully committed to public education (even taught for 7 years before burning out) so I cared deeply about the school system long before I had kids. You don't have to spawn to care about good schools. In fact, since he isn't distracted by child rearing, he has more time to devote to the work. Every time I see people commenting on Frisch not having kids, it reads to me like an anti-gay dog whistle. FWIW, my understanding is that his husband is a teacher. So that gives him even more skin in the game than a parent, and more quality knowledge from the reality inside a school and the system at large. I'd take that as a personal family qualification more than being the random parent of a 5th grader. Just because someone’s husband is a teacher does not make them a teacher. My hubby is a special agent with the feds, does not make me a special agent. People on the board should have an education background like a teacher or have a child in the school district. |
