They reported acceptances, not matriculations. Kids were admitted to more than one school.

This can be misleading because one exceptional kid can account for the acceptances at several top schools.

Exactly! I’m sure that’s what happened at Bullis this year. The total number of Ivy acceptances are probably from no more than 6 or 7 students.

There 7 ivies on the early decision list alone. None of those kids could also be on the regular admissions list, and a bunch of the ivies have multiple admissions on the regular list. There are 4 at Penn alone. So you are obviously wrong.

Holy moly, Bullis parents sound like they are fighting on the playground! Let this go. Your PR team is trying very hard to raise the school's reputation. But trying too hard is never a good strategy.

Let’s end this once and for all. Among the 7 ED Ivy admits, 3 overlap with the Division 1 recruited athletes (Princeton and UPenn). So, 7-3= 4. There are 11 Ivy RD admits that don’t overlap with ED or recruited athletes. Many/most of the RD admits are a handful of the same students. I’ll be generous and say that 4 students earned the 11 RD acceptances. That’s 4 unique ED acceptances, 3 combo ED/athlete, and 4 RD acceptances. So, out of ~140 graduating Bullis seniors, 11 different students were admitted to Ivies. By contrast, out of ~125 graduating Sidwell seniors, 13 have already posted their Ivy destinations. There are more Sidwell seniors who will attend Ivies in the fall.

So, is Bullis the new Sidwell? No, and they never will be because the school will always lack Sidwell’s history, reputation, and results. But perhaps they’re the new…Maret.

Oh my god, GIVE IT UP! Please end this stupid thread. Sidwell is Sidwell and Bullis is Bullis.

Yes it is. And I love how people are losing their minds over it!

You wish. Bullis wishes.

Sidwell never thinks about Bullis.

Bullis parent here. No, it’s not the new Sidwell and we should hope that they never strive to be that. We are there because of the diversity of the student body and the diversity among the different types of learners. Our school is able to accommodate all types of students and there is a major need for that. I am actually concerned with what is happening now under the new head and what’s going on in the lower school. I’m feeling like they are more concerned with keeping up with the Big 3 than focusing on what a special place it has been and bringing more attention to that. We will be staying there for now, but if they start trying to completely change the school, we are out. I know a big donor family that feels the same, but unfortunately they have more high donor families concerned with the prestige and I don’t think them leaving would make much of a difference.

We are not Sidwell and we should focus on how amazing it is, as it is. Nobody likes a follower. Those that March to their own beat win in the end.

You are certainly spending a lot of time thinking about Bullis.

I’m not Sidwell, nor am I a Sidwell parent.

However, I know that a lion doesn't concern itself with the opinion of sheep.

So you really don’t know anything about either school?

I know enough about Bullis that I would never waste my time, gas, or money to send my children there.

So you really don’t know anything about either school?
