Are you canceling plans for the 4th?

India and China are pro abortion so women can abort their daughters in favor of sons. Husbands and Fathers often force them to use abortion to ensure a son is born.

That’s not the situation here, though. I know it’s tough for you, but try to keep up.

Do you always just get up and leave if something is broken or hard? I just hate this statement!

Dp. I mean obviously if his parents made those sacrifices they got u and left when something got broken or hard!

You do not know this. It might be the best country you've been in but just because that is the case, and your parents sacrificed to get here, does not mean the US is the best country in the world. You have become arrogant. Sad.

We light fireworks because it is fun and attend BBQs because we want to see friends, not because I love this country or want to celebrate it. Kind of like how we "celebrate" christmas but don't go to church or believe in god.

For those of us who are pet parents, the night can be practically unbearable as we witness our furry friends suffer horribly for hours.
Finally, as seen on this thread, many are still processing the demise of RvW so please be conscious of their suffering and anguish as well.

I get the first part of your statement but seriously, what exactly would you like us to do for our neighbors who are upset by the RvW decision. I am upset but should I ask my friends to wear muted colors or not talk so loud so my neighbors can mourn. Come on...get a grip, suffering is a bit melodramatic.

Seriously. Whatever virtue signaling works for you, I guess.

We’re doing what we’ve always done. Zero fcks given.

+1. Couldn’t agree more.

You guys are such dorks, just acting your little hearts out so you can claim common cause with people who actually have sh$tty lives. Over, what exactly? A 6-3 SC decision on constitutional law that you absolutely don’t understand? Don’t you fret there, Delilah, you can still get knocked up with impunity and have it taken care of however you like. You just can’t drive down to the ONE clinic that existed in Alabama and do it there. You weren’t gonna do that anyway.

I’ll be out there in the sunshine, “Ros-ey All Day” to Toby Keith, just a lock stock and barrel classic American celebration. You can sit in the house sobbing like Powder from the movie Powder if you want to.

You are so ignorant I'm not sure this is satire.
But here's the thing- I know the laws won't affect me or my daughter b.c we can pay and travel.(unless they try some of those crossing state line laws they are cooking up). But I actually care about and feel for the women and girls in TX, OK, LA etc who are poor and stuck in bad situations.

So what are you doing about it?? If people care, we shouid be rallying for a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to choose. What makes this country great is that we can do that. It takes a huge amount of effort, but if every woman who cares about it rises up, we are unstoppable.

What I don’t want to see is women who are in states where they can get abortion easily do nothing.

Of course I am involved in supporting Planned Parenthood and going to rallies!

You hate children, right? Some kids don’t like fireworks, either. Fancy that!

What's wrong with showing people what you think? It is a form of expression, free speech, something we still have ... for now. Use it. We just saw how easy it is for our rights to disappear.

I think pp was expressing an opinion. You know like most people do on this forum. If pp thinks this is the best country in the world, great! Of course it's not a fact. PP has a point though that many do think we are in the greatest country in the world. Why else would people literally sacrifice their lives to get here? Check out the 46 people who were found dead in a semi in TX today. Horrific. I'm not saying this is the best country but perspective is everything. People risk their lives to live here so they can attain freedoms/opportunities that they'd never have in their own countries. America is not perfect but it sure has a lot going for it.

We bowed out of our neighborhood gathering. Flags went straight down. The fourth was my favorite holiday forever and not because I’m super patriotic or anything but because I come from an immigrant family and I felt truly grateful for the opportunities we have been given here. But the past six/seven years have been terrible and now with the SCOTUS of ruling and everything about 1/6 coming out, I am just not in the celebratory mood.

Ugly sweaters in December
Pink in October

Personally, I am not on any social media and have been thinking about canceling our plans. I’m just not in the mood to celebrate the country. As a woman, and one with daughters, I find it hard to celebrate a country that has taken away our right to make decisions about our own bodies.
Oh, and I’m a second generation immigrant too. My grandmother is as upset as I am.

It’s all such performative bullshit. If you don’t like a court ruling or a legislative decision, get involved to change things.

But instead it’s all about how the “country” is not good enough for you and how you deserve so much better. It’s such an entitled, self-centered attitude.

And I won’t even mention the unintentional irony of those screaming about how six conservatives on the Court should not be making decisions about their reproductive rights - moments after those same conservatives said “we’re not it.” [I’d have left Roe alone as settled law but, still, in the long run something good may come out of relying on legislators to legislate rather than looking to judges to divine rights.]

Girl how are we supposed to change things done by an UNELECTED court that has LIFETIME appointments. This line is so tired and dead.

Don’t let these conservative piggies own patriotism or pretend they care about liberty. They will gun down their fellow citizens as soon as they get the OK from Uncle Clarence.

I certainly hope you are joking; otherwise, you need deep therapy for whatever your uncle did to you.
