The entire division is not gone, as much as the hysterics want to proclaim this. The AG is remaking the division, as every AG before him has done. He will probably make sure it runs more efficiently with less duplication of effort. Democrats are such whiny hypocrites. |
Many of us who “care” about this are somewhat concerned about the lawyers, and extremely concerned about discrimination lawsuits in general. We’re also either old enough, educated enough, or both: to remember and understand the deep history of racial discrimination in Virginia — and the role of lawyers, who you’re so blithely dismissing, in making even a modicum of progress. You’re focusing on the salaries of a few people. Some of us are focusing on the civil rights of significant numbers of citizens. Get the difference? If you find this “laughable “ that really says a lot about you. |
What the hell? |
And yet Loudoun still swung BLUE. |
It didn’t swing BLUE. It voted less BLUE. Still BLUE, but less so. |
| The previous AG was left wing. So be it. Right wing AG in town now. |
This. I’m a former prosecutor who has experienced the change in administration from a law and order approach to a progressive approach. Same thing happened, the newly elected progressive came in and wanted every career prosecutor gone, without a thought to what their caseload was or how to transition. This is how things go nowadays with these positions being so politicized. |
| Apolitical career public servants are usually not on the chopping block when administrations change. This was a bold move and it got my attention and I am concerned about the ramifications. |
I’m the poster above, and it absolutely does happen in the current environment, particularly in law enforcement offices. This wasn’t always the case, but with the current deep divide between progressive prosecutors and those that are seen as law and order types it absolutely does. If a progressive is taking over they want to bring in a bunch of former public defenders to effectuate change from the inside, if a law and order type is taking over they want to bring in career prosecutors. |
And who cares if some human trafficking victims fall through the cracks in the process? It’s not like they’re real people. |
I’m guessing that the folks in the AGs office were working with the victims of trafficking. The prosecution of traffickers would likely be handled by federal prosecutors. Also, progressive prosecutors aren’t good at actual prosecution on the rare occasions they deem it necessary, because they purge the office of all experienced prosecutors upon arrival. |
