Apolitical career public servants are usually not on the chopping block when administrations change. This was a bold move and it got my attention and I am concerned about the ramifications.
I’m the poster above, and it absolutely does happen in the current environment, particularly in law enforcement offices. This wasn’t always the case, but with the current deep divide between progressive prosecutors and those that are seen as law and order types it absolutely does. If a progressive is taking over they want to bring in a bunch of former public defenders to effectuate change from the inside, if a law and order type is taking over they want to bring in career prosecutors.
And who cares if some human trafficking victims fall through the cracks in the process? It’s not like they’re real people.
One of a handful of instances when far-Left prosecutors in Virginia showed any concern for the victims of a crime
Not really. Because the people doing the trafficking of these young women are not the type people those prosecutors are interested in putting in jail.
I’m guessing that the folks in the AGs office were working with the victims of trafficking. The prosecution of traffickers would likely be handled by federal prosecutors. Also, progressive prosecutors aren’t good at actual prosecution on the rare occasions they deem it necessary, because they purge the office of all experienced prosecutors upon arrival.
