Watching Youngkin’s campaign and seeing what he’s done his first day in office, I took momentary solace and satisfaction in our family’s decision to live in MD rather than VA. However, this GOP will use lies and rig the system in their favor across the country, and it impacts us all.
They seem to believe the promise of this country only exists for them — according to their terms even though they and their viewpoints represent the minority. They don’t believe the blessings of liberty should be extended to anyone who doesn’t look or think like them. They bathe themselves in red, white, and blue and call themselves “patriots” when they are exactly the opposite. |
The CIU is in charge of investigating claims of innocence, with an eye toward truth seeking rather than litigation based on procedural barriers to those claims. Those barriers are huge in Virginia, and the CIU was doing really important work. It should be considered important from a law and order perspective, too, but I don’t get the sense that it will be. |
| Trumpkin is a racist liar. Now there is a fox in the hen house. |
Your only source is a nine-month-old prediction from WalletHub about how small businesses might fare in the pandemic based on very limited metrics? In other words, you have nothing to support your claims that GDP has taken a nosedive (which is demonstrably false) or that small businesses are feeling the brunt of it. |
Well of course, they're fascists. We've seen what that orange idiot tried to do and these people don't care at all. They want things their way even if they have to do illegal things to get it. |
Very well said. |
Democrats do it all the time. This is from back in 2018: https://6abc.com/philadelphia-news-district-attorney-larry-krasner-prosecutors-fired/2867602/ |
| This thread is so laughable. It seems like most dems are completely and utterly out of touch with the working class. I don’t vote republican because their policies are even worse for the working class and worsen social inequity. But JFC how much do you think the average person who is struggling cares about a couple of state level lawyers (read, people who make more $$$ than most and have more opportunity to land on their feet) and the fate of some housing discrimination lawsuits? |
You are right that a lot of people don’t understand the significance of this, if they are even aware that it happened. That’s why those of who are aware and do understand should fight back against it. |
Sure, but asking if those that voted for Youngkin have learned their lesson yet is just ridiculous. No, obviously they haven’t. They don’t care about this. They aren’t spending a second’s thought about this. |
| No one cares about the civil rights division or the office of diversity and inclusion, they won't be missed. What people see is Youngkin giving POC leadership roles with important job duties and titles. |
| So is the ENTIRE DIVISION GONE or just 2 people? |
+1 Do you have any idea how many wrongfully convicted Virginians there have been? |
Two black people in an otherwise all-white thirteen-person cabinet is not exactly groundbreaking. |
EXACTLY. |
