Do you understand what it means to have summarily fired the entire civil rights division.

He could have left them on the health insurance for 90 days. Same with severance. Too bad.

No, step back from what happens to the individual former employees for a moment. Do you understand what the civil rights division does, and the significance of firing everyone despite the current case load? Please explain your understanding of the implication of that, if you can.

Oh that? Yeah you can discuss the implications. Pretty terrible. Too bad 45% of Loudoun voters didn't think of the consequences on November 2nd.

But they were MAD! And they wanted everyone to see their tantrum. How dare, during a pandemic, you expect me to be responsible for my OWN KIDS?!?!?

That is exactly it. Being 24/7 parents was not the social contract they signed up for. How could they get their Starbucks latte and yoga class in with a 4-year-old hanging off them?

Each time you post this drivel you drive middle of the road working parents who were hanging by a thread last year (and had the services they pay taxes for ripped away from them) further to the right, so thank you 😊

You were never middle of the road. You can lie to yourself and to other Trumpers all you like, but we know.

You centrists are not moderates. You’re conservatives. Republicans. Own it.

Says the extreme LWNJ who was never in his/her life "middle of the road."

Herring was actually a really decent guy and a good AG. Losing the AG race was a more ridiculous byproduct of nonsensical school closing + racist BS dogwhistles about CRT than the Governorship. At least the Governor controls those issues & the Dem candidate sucked. Not at all true of the incumbent AG.

No. You need to face reality. Youngkin was elected directly because of the unnecessary and deeply harmful school closures, which lie directly at the feet of the Democratic power structure. The sooner that the Democrats recognize this truth, the better.

You can continue to insult his voters all you want. But the people who really elected Youngkin are the many reliable Democrats who stayed home because they were so disgusted by the school closures. Youngkin won because people were angry at the fact that their kids weren’t educated for 18 months. Democrats used to be seen as the party of education, and they aren’t any more. It’s a foundational shift, and I worry it is going to turn the entire country over to the Republicans. People used to put up with Democrats because they trusted them to educate their kids. But that trust is lost, possibly permanently.

You were mad at local school administrators and school boards because they took a global pandemic seriously.

Youngkin won’t fix any of that.

If you’re going to lie, at least fact check first. The 2021 Virginia Gubernatorial was actually the highest turnout in history including 2017, 2013, 2009, and 2005.

2021 - 3.2 million voters
2017 - 2.5 million voters
2013 - 2.1 million voters
2009 - 1.9 million voters

Not as much as I will enjoy you squirming and screaming under the alleged Republican dictatorship.

Uh, that makes no sense?

Honestly it’s like the Democrats want to lose.

No. That has nothing to do with anonymous comments on a mommy site.

Some dumb voters believed GOP propaganda and/or were voting out of spite.

Those voters should own it. They are adults. They shouldn’t blame others for their own bad actions.

I hope state workers enjoy what they apparently voted for. They need to get their resumes together.

Every Republican governor elected since 1970 has cut state jobs. If you don't think this is a big deal try going to the DMV right now. They are already down 30% of their workers. The state has a budget surplus so there is no need to cut jobs.

George Allen cut 9% of state workers. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2011/sep/03/george-allen/allen-says-he-substantially-cut-state-government-w/

Gilmore promised to cut car tax but we still pay it, he failed, cut the state's IT, and threw those functions as well as a lot of VDOT function to private contractors.

Bob McDonnell privatized more state functions and promoted off shore drilling. He also proposed auctioning off state liquor stores which employ 4k workers. He was not successful. Of course his administration was over shadowed by his indictment. " On January 21, 2014, McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, were indicted on federal corruption charges for receiving improper gifts and loans from a Virginia businessman. They were convicted on most counts by a federal jury on September 4, 2014. McDonnell, the first Virginia governor to be indicted or convicted of a felony, was sentenced on January 6, 2015, to two years in prison, followed by two years of supervised release. However, he was free on bond during the subsequent appeals process.[8] On June 27, 2016, the Supreme Court of the United States unanimously overturned[9] McDonnell's conviction and remanded the case back to a lower court.[10] Less than three months later, the Justice Department announced that they would not prosecute the case again and moved to dismiss the charges against the former governor and his wife.[11] The case cost McDonnell over $27 million in legal bills" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_McDonnell

I'm betting Youngkin will try to bring back off shore drilling and he will be bad for public space and resources. Those damn state parks aren't producing revenue and it will probably bother him. He's a corporate raider and his specialty is stripping assets and selling them off piece by piece. Enjoy.
