WARNING - DD filmed by two older men in Plaza America Reston Starbucks

It’s perfectly legal. You can ask them to stop, but they don’t have to. At that point your immediate recourse is to leave.

I thought OP was going to say her daughter was in middle/high school.

Something like this should only happen if the DD is 15, not 25. Your daughter has no coping abilities, OP.

My DD is 4’11” She looks 15. To be honest, she was concerned about calling police because the men were not white, and therefore did not want to cause a scene (her friend with her was also not white, so no, they are not racist. So she contacted me I told my daughter that we should not consider race when it comes to creepy behavior - err on the side of caution.

Of course they weren't white. As if this story was already unbelievable. I'm not much taller than your DD and I never acted so clueless at 25. She may look 15 but she is definitely not. Stop making excuses for her immaturity.

So what race is your daughter? What race is the friend and the videographers? Black, asian or hispanic?

OP, thanks for letting us know about it. I am glad that your DD is safe. Kudos on having a good relationship with your DD that she called you.

Don't pay attention to all the posters who are triggered.

Well then you’ve raised a low intellect, hyper aggressive imbecile…..congrats!

I was the same way when I was young. Women have to be careful because men don't like when we defend ourselves. One guy tried to punch me in the face when I cussed him out for grabbing my rear. If not for the men who held him back, my jaw would've surely been broken.

Cussing in public is a misdemeanor so you were at fault. Also, grabbing your rear could be considered assault so you should have called the police instead of resorting to common behavior of cursing.

It is really disturbing that a 25 year old’s first instinct when faced with a troubling situation was to text her mother. What has happened to this generation?

Also, it’s creepy and gross but not a crime to film in public. Calling the police was not the right advice.

Incorrect. These guys were likely involved in sex trafficking.

You don't know this as a fact! This is slander and libel now that you have put it in writing.

Not a slander because used the word "likely". And the identity of these two men is not known.

But, yes, best thing is to record these people on live stream. Tell the Barista, put their picture on DCUM (Jeff can delete if it is wrong) saying that these people were making a young girl uncomfortable etc...and publicly shame them.

Once upon a time sexual harassment was tolerated in the work place...then it had to stop.

You seem to be an InCel man. Probably the man that OP is describing? Your standard of behavior is very high for the girl. She should not have done the "common behavior" of cussing after being sexually assaulted? Are your daughters and sisters safe from you, Josh Duggar?

Sounds like an excellent way to get yourself ejected from an establishment or punched in the face.

Punched in the face? That would be prison and a lawsuit.

Low IQ people tend to resort to violence because they can’t form and articulate complete thoughts.

What's low IQ is thinking that anyone is going to be arrested or successfully sued for defending themselves against an obvious voyeur.

But you’re not defending yourself. You’re physically assaulting someone who isn’t doing anything illegal.

That makes YOU the violent criminal here. Because that’s what you are - a violent criminal.

The crazies are out in full force today.

Omg how is someone legally recording another person in public sexual harassment?

"Young girl?!?!?" She is 25! If you call someone a "young girl" I am picturing someone under the age of 10!

They were making an ADULT feel uncomfortable. A fully grown adult who is capable of voting, signing contracts, and having children of their own.

Wait so if someone looks 15 but are 25 should they be allowed to drive and vote? 25 is a woman.

I wouldn't have known exactly what to do and I'm 34.

+1 sure it might be hard to know just what to do, but in a situation like that, you call on the resources immediately at hand (her friend, strangers nearby, baristas, all of whom could size the situation up in a second, and could be part of the response, or call 911 if necessary), not a parent who is nowhere near. OP's DD was lacking in a sense of time and place.

So creepily. Sorry OP.

I would hope my DD would confide in me also at that age. It is terrible that there is so little recourse. Next time, I would get photos of the men and tell them if they do not stop you will post them to next door app or wherever with a Pervy old men warning.

Women need to petition law makers to make it illegal to be videoed and filmed against their will even in public.
