Political Discussion
Blows my mind that Bethany spent all summer ranting and raving about how RSV is more deadly to children than covid, and yet, when there's an RSV outbreak and a pediatrician's office takes preventative measures to stop it from spreading from family to family, she loses her shit. |
|
Bethany is in histrionics on twitter because she won't vaccinate her children so they won't be allowed to dine indoors in NYC (where they do not live).
I don't understand how she is supposedly homeschooling multiple children + caring for an infant but she tweets no less than 50 times a day. |
Just read the Deseret article and yes, x10 to the bolded. Yikes. It's enough to make me feel sorry for her. |
Losing her parents young was no doubt difficult and it sounds like their divorce really hurt her too. But I would take a lot of her stories with a grain of salt, also. She's pretty inconsistent with her claims and doesn't seem like a reliable narrator. Most recently she's yelling all over twitter and instagram that she was "born and raised in New York City" which is not true at all, at least not according to her own prior stories and professional bio. |
I was wondering why I wasn't seeing her tweets. I forgot she blocked me. |

She isn't some new bright young starter with conservative views. Yawn. Being politically conservative is normalized in her community. Most, young and old, voted for Trump, just like young evangelicals in Christian circles. She has plenty of company and has just decided to go public on social media, that's all. If she's pissing anyone off, all the better for her.
Just don't give these people any play. Why bring her up at all- you are just helping. Scroll on. Get off her, and other's media accts. |
If you do want to see her insanity she started a new instagram account solely dedicated to complaining about politics. @bethanyshondark. It's mostly her talking to the camera about illogical political ideas while she's allegedly homeschooling 5 kids. |
I mean, her community is Montgomery County - I wouldn't call that an especially politically conservative place. But regardless, she definitely is some kind of conservative rising star. She goes on TV regularly to be a pundit about stuff she has no qualifications on. Her spouse edits the National Review, which holds itself out as some kind of more refined conservative outlet. Her and her husband do have an impact on and sometimes seem to shape the conversation in a certain part of the conservative political ecosystem. |
Conservative political ecosystem? Very cute. And can we call today's conservative political scene an ecosystem? Is it an ecosystem when it's largely artificial turf? No, not at all, no shaping happening. It's all self marketing. |
| Is she a Never Trumper? |

Bethany, referring to families with small children who have a hard time wearing masks: "This can't go on. Families are driving across the country to see relatives because they're worried about being kicked off flights."
Easy Bethany. Pace yourself. I think she makes valid points regarding masked pre-schoolers and elementary school students. Airlines are trying to protect their employees and they're not going to lift their mask policies until the pandemic ends. That doesn't seem tragic. |
| ^ I meant to say that Bethany makes better points regarding young children wearing masks in school. I disagree with her passion regarding children wearing masks on airplanes. |
Seth does NOT edit National Review lmao. Seth is the editor of the Washington Examiner, which is far less prestigious. |
