Bethany is whatever benefits her most. She was a Never Trumper in 2016, a Trumper in 2020, and then, after January 6, a Never Trumper again.

Most, young and old, voted for Trump, just like young evangelicals in Christian circles. She has plenty of company and has just decided to go public on social media, that's all. If she's pissing anyone off, all the better for her.
Just don't give these people any play. Why bring her up at all- you are just helping. Scroll on. Get off her, and other's media accts.

I mean, her community is Montgomery County - I wouldn't call that an especially politically conservative place. But regardless, she definitely is some kind of conservative rising star. She goes on TV regularly to be a pundit about stuff she has no qualifications on. Her spouse edits the National Review, which holds itself out as some kind of more refined conservative outlet. Her and her husband do have an impact on and sometimes seem to shape the conversation in a certain part of the conservative political ecosystem.

I think they meant the orthodox Jewish community, not Montgomery County lol.

I'm surprised she's caving to the anti-vaxx fraction of the GOP and disappointed in myself for being surprised. I know who Bethany is because of her op-ed in the Washington Post a few years ago about how to increase routine immunization numbers. And here we are, 24 months later, with Bethany tweeting about why we should have compassion for anti-vaxxers.

Bethany, 11/02/2020: "Never Trumpers just don't like mean tweets! Lol Trump will win cause I saw a yard sign in MoCo."
Bethany, 01/07/2021: "IMPEACH HIM!!!!!!!"

I thought she was just anti-mask, not anti-vaxx.

I actually am not even sure that she's anti-mask for vaccinated adults, just doesn't like vaccinated adults and kids having to wear them. She does always rant that she alone knows that surgical masks are the best at preventing covid and that gaiters don't work...yeah, no shit. They are allowing gaiters because they are seen as "more comfortable" which Bethany's ilk would be the first to complain about!

And she was vaccinated while pregnant, so I give her a lot of credit for that. There are a couple other pregnant conservatives on twitter who vocally refuse the vaccine.

Is Bethany aware of how hurtful her "I KNOW SO MANY MILLENNIALS WITHOUT KIDS WHY DON'T THEY WANT KIDS" diatribes are? Has she considered what if they are incapable of having children or in the middle of grueling fertility treatments?

In Bethany's latest tweet, she shares fan mail from someone who seems totally, 1000% normal. This individual - who is unvaccinated but "not anti-vax" - only masks her children at the "dumb pediatrician's office" where she also ignore's the pediatrician's medical advice by not vaccinating her children as they have "natural immunity."

But please, tell me more about how Bethany is the voice of reason.

Oh shit. Bethany told the Editor-in-Chief of Highlights that if she continues to show illustrations of children in masks, Bethany will be canceling her subscription!

Someone on Twitter: I love you Bethany, keep going. I just can't figure out if you are Jewish or Mormon (or both?)

Bethany: I can't either

Also Bethany: I once asked Seth why we aren’t LDS and he reminded me I’m not nice enough. I think all of you know he’s right.

How can she be so flippant about her beliefs, especially after having converted to the religion and while homeschooling her children in said religion? And she's said this kind of thing before about Mormonism, so it isn't just kidding around for a moment on Twitter with one of her Deseret News readers on.

This is clearly a woman who does not care about other people. She’s a sociopath.

Bethany has said that she wants to encourage people to have children, and to show positive and joyful aspects of having a large family, because print media doesn't really encourage child-rearing or having large families. Doubt she's in any way trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

Well her twitter is nothing but joyful /s

She also claims it’s ~misogynistic~ to ask how she tweets literally all day long while being the sole caregiver for and allegedly homeschooling five kids. Because it implies that “women should only live and exist for their children.”

No lady, it implies that you - a woman who has made a choice to be the full time caregiver for five children - are spending an inordinate amount of time paying attention to your phone instead of said children.
