With the understanding that this discussion has now moved on to the actual plot, etc., and spoilers are expected. . . I think the motivation of the old guy is just the thrill. The point is that in contrast to the desperation of the debt-ridden players who would just like enough money to have a calm, secure, normal life, the old guy who organized it and his rich friends have everything money could buy. They have it all and have done it all and now they're bored. For them this was just for fun. |
Agree with this. A lot of Koreans tend to have full lips with high cheekbones, and that combination makes for very attractive people. |
+1 amazing bone structure |
I just finished the season and OMg. The final episode felt so long because there were so many twists and turns!!! I am still in disbelief (are we doing spoilers here? I know that this thread got taken over by mother talking about the appropriateness of children watching the show) of the character who showed up in the end!!!! |
Trying to be vague...
But I was curious if he was somehow involved because he was the only losing player they didn't show getting shot/killed. My partner thought it was out of respect, like respecting your elders. I kind of don't want there to be a second season of it. Some shows are better being a one-off and I think this is one of them. |
I think with it's wild success, it will be impossible for Netflix to resist creating a second season. Korean dramas are typically only one season long, though, which is part of their appeal. |
Squid Game is smailiar to which movie? |
I think the VIPS were international. There was a mandarin speaker (the one who commented on the rain). I hated the way the hero waited a whole year before he sprung the kid from the orphanage. Have your existential crisis, sure, but there's a little boy and old lady who need some closure! |
you'll love korean dramas then. they are all super good looking |
Watch Mr. Sunshine then |
welcome to K-dramas! |
Can we take this “Koreans are so pretty” nonsense to the beauty forum or the teen forum or BTs forum or whatever. Fantastic show! Well written. Well acted. Great ending. I like that it was t wrapped up all perfectly with him living in a mansion with the little boy. He was deeply traumatized! |
Google the term “Hallyu.” The Koreans are expert storytellers, offer stunning cinematography and their cadre of actors are quite good looking. Pretty impressive for such a small country. |
Battle Royale |
I have read so much about this that I am definitely going to watch this on Netflix.
However I know if it is really as good as I hear it is than it is best to wait & watch it this weekend where losing sleep will not be an issue‼️ |
