Not weird. But I don’t see it at all. I didn’t think anyone was stunning or really even all that attractive.

The main actor is pretty famous in Korea as a well-known leading man type.

I don't recognize him in the show

This made me laugh Bc everyone in the show is filthy and grimy. So it’s kind of shocking to me anyone would find them attractive. I had no desire to even look anyone up.

Watched the first two episodes last night - absolutely riveting. Great character backstories too - they are all awful people, but you empathize so much with them. Also, the cinematography & set design is incredible.

We are totally hooked.

Adults only. The first episode does a mass execution style scene. Blood and all.

IMO I would be fine with my 12 year old watching it. It's just entertainment

I guess that’s a testament to the show that you thought the actors always look like these characters?

Loved it, very similar to Alice in Borderland, but with more depth.

Binged it. Decent.

It is the same as Battle Royale, Alice in Borderland, Kakeguri, High Rise Invasion etc. etc.

I have no idea why Squid Games caught on but others that have been out for a while haven't.. Asians really loooove their survivor type shows and media. There are tons in this genre with minor twists in the premise.

By Asians I'm assuming you mean Japanese. This is the only other non-Japanese Asian "Battle Royale"-esque show I can think of.

And to answer your earlier question, the execution is so much better than Alice in Borderland (which I also enjoyed). Better acting, better character development, better gimmicks, better cinematography.

I watched it with my 10 year old. There is one sex scene that was easy for me to hide from her-- it's pretty obvious it's about to happen so had her turn her back while I fast forwarded.

The violence is fine. While graphic, the circumstances and the way it's done are more shockingly gory than scary or emotional. For the most part.

The really adult aspects of it are just the moral quandaries that kids might find boring or not really get in all their nuance.

Anyone else recommend for an 11-12 year old?

Stop letting your 10-12 year olds watch. You literally have dozens of people being executed by being shot in the head. Nudity. Blowjobs.

Y'all insane.

If the extreme violence is fine for your 10 yr old, then the sex scene shouldn't have been a problem. It’s all just entertainment as someone else said.
