And she clearly isn't writing all of her songs, she obvi has teams of ghostwriters signing NDAs, so I wouldn't read anything into the babble she sings.

You just described yourself. And yes - she does indeed write her own songs either alone or with collaborators (Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner, Shellback, Max Martin, Bon Iver, etc.) - and she credits them each and every time.

She does not credit people every single time or she would have credited Michael Jackson and "I Want You Back" for using his ideas for "Wood" on TLOAS.

Antonoff is over her.

Shellback and Martin are likely over her by now. You can hear how she doesn't listen to Martin and Shellback and talks over them if you listen to her voice memos. If you listen to Ariana and Martin working together, you see a whole different level of professionalism and collaboration.

It's fine. She can be mid and still sell out her stadiums. Her core fans will buy anything at this point--even broken TLOAS hairbrushes and lightning bolt necklaces that break.

You keep bringing up her “voice memos.” I have no idea what you’re referencing. But how funny that someone who thinks she’s “mid” and is fixated on baseless, evidence-free claims, knows all about obscure things that most people couldn’t care less about.

You are the very definition of a “core fan,” which must be upsetting for you to acknowledge!

I thought the same thing! I’m actually a pretty big Taylor fan and I have never heard these voice memos lol.

It’s so weird that a non-fan would bother.

OK, maybe I should start listening to 1975. You guys have convinced me. I think MH is pretty gross, but maybe I’ll give him another chance.

Don't know, but she is incredibly off-putting.

Oh, I think Gabby is hot. Angelina Jolie type of stunning. But I still prefer Matty w/ Taylor because these two in love make incredible music, eg Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, Being Funny In a Foreign Language…

l find it funny that most of her fans still think Taylor’s best love songs were about Joe Alwyn when it is clear on the albums above she was pining for someone she didn’t have (Matty) and going on secret meetups. Even songs on Lover such as Cruel Summer or Death By a Thousand Cuts for example never made sense to be about a long-term relationship. There is a feeling of secrecy on Reputation too. And then she spelled it all out on TTPD.
Honest question: do people not notice lyrics??

I think we're well past Matty Healy at this point. Old news.

But he inspired 50 (?) of Taylor’s best songs that earned her a billion of dollars and global superstar status. I am fascinated by their love affair and will never find it old news.

Honestly, loving Matty Heally like this is the ONLY interesting thing she's ever done. Will never find it old news either.

I don’t follow Taylor too closely, but a couple of bad ass things that stand out for me is suing the guy that grabbed her butt at the radio station for a dollar to make a point, and releasing the Kanye and Kim tapes to show that they were lying. I thought those both were pretty cool lol.

As for Matty, I don’t think it’s possible for me to find him less appealing. I truly just don’t get it.

Agree, on all counts! Though I do love his "About You" song.

About You is a great love song, but imo one of their best and most underrated songs is Looking For Somebody To Love. It’s upbeat and dancy, yet the lyrics are about mass shootings and how loners neglected by society can go on shooting sprees in America. The lyric “a supreme gentleman” refers to Elliot Rodger’s misogynistic and violent ideology.

It’s why people misunderstand Matty - on stage he often makes fun of toxic masculinity, or idiots like Kanye, or right-wingers, sometimes transforming into creepy characters to portray them, so a quick social media video can make him appear weird. He is just…out there with his performance art, but he is very clued in, and his lyrics are intelligent and meaningful.

Cool. Maybe you should start your own spinoff about him so you and the 4 other people who care about this guy and talk about him all day.

Album is rubbish. She is a private equity vassal at this point bleeding her spendthrift fan base dry. They are riding her til the wheels fall off.

I agree. But it didn't have to be this way. ttpd showed a different path, one she had already abandoned by its release

Does she sing live or not??

Interesting take:

Wings of Pegasus from YouTube does an analysis.

Mirrorball and Medicine
The 1 and Robbers
imgonnagetyouback and Looking for Somebody to Love/fallingforyou
They both have a Paris song

Just off the top of my head.

Signed, unapologetic Swiftie

They asked questions--and even replied to each other--in songs during their affair.

It's so weird that a fan would not listen to them...She released them, so why not listen to how she made the song?

You're mistaken about the lack of evidence. I provided lyrics as evidence of her copying Lana. Numerous examples, which you choose to ignore.

How do you not know that she released voice memos?? You can't be much of a fan if you don't know that.

Weird question. I’m a casual fan. I have a life. I enjoy the music, but I don’t go down every Taylor Swift rabbit hole.

You need to have critical thinking skills to listen to The 1975 and the ability to analyze their astute lyrics and stage acts, not just take them literally. Another example is It’s Not Living If It’s Not With You: it sounds like a love song, but if you pay attention, it is about heroin addiction.

We used to call this being an edgelord. I don’t get him, don’t think it’s a good look into one’s thirties, but whatever, I don’t need to. It seems he’s had plenty of women celebs (and even a DCUM or two) swooning over him, so good for him and I mean that sincerely. Different strokes and all that.
