Oh, I think Gabby is hot. Angelina Jolie type of stunning. But I still prefer Matty w/ Taylor because these two in love make incredible music, eg Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, Being Funny In a Foreign Language…[/quote]

l find it funny that most of her fans still think Taylor’s best love songs were about Joe Alwyn when it is clear on the albums above she was pining for someone she didn’t have (Matty) and going on secret meetups. Even songs on Lover such as Cruel Summer or Death By a Thousand Cuts for example never made sense to be about a long-term relationship. There is a feeling of secrecy on Reputation too. And then she spelled it all out on TTPD.

I don’t follow Taylor too closely, but a couple of bad ass things that stand out for me is suing the guy that grabbed her butt at the radio station for a dollar to make a point, and releasing the Kanye and Kim tapes to show that they were lying. I thought those both were pretty cool lol.

About You is a great love song, but imo one of their best and most underrated songs is Looking For Somebody To Love. It’s upbeat and dancy, yet the lyrics are about mass shootings and how loners neglected by society can go on shooting sprees in America. The lyric “a supreme gentleman” refers to Elliot Rodger’s misogynistic and violent ideology.

You need to have critical thinking skills to listen to The 1975 and the ability to analyze their astute lyrics and stage acts, not just take them literally. Another example is It’s Not Living If It’s Not With You: it sounds like a love song, but if you pay attention, it is about heroin addiction.
