But I do have one Taylor nit, and that is I wish she would spekaup. She is a billionaire with nothing to lose, and she seems so insulated right now not telling Trump and the WH to eff off using her music.

Like, didn't she used to be politically involved?

Maybe I am wrong, but this seems like a legit critique?

In Miss Americana, she wanted to be on the right side of history.

Now? She does mot care.

It is all a show.

I don't understand why she doesn't speak up. She doesn't care about the country. Why should she. Absorbed into her brand. But at least peer pressure should make her speak up cause she is losing fans and industry respect for her silence

The likely reason she spoke up in Miss Americana was because she was in love with and chasing after Matty Healy at that time. The 1975 are very politically vocal, and Taylor was probably hoping to impress him and shatter her image of a PR-controlled bore. Love has a way of making us brave like that.

Sadly she is not that girl anymore. She could do so much good with her platform and use her voice to influence and unite…but she just doesn’t. Donating a few million to food banks when you are a billionaire isn’t the flex people make it out to be.

+1. Our athletes at the Olympics are rising to the occasion and speaking up. Perhaps Taylor can learn a thing or two from them.

She tries to become the person she is with and she seems to have no self. That is sad for her.

I believe she is under her dad’s narcissistic thumb and is either depressed and/or alcoholic and/or personality disordered.

She has not been treated kindly by her parents but seems too enmeshed with them to know that.

Sadly, she can’t match the vocal range of Lana or Sabrina and does not seem able to play much beyond the same four chords.

If not for autotune and pitch correction, her voice would sound horrible.

Her best work happened when with Joe, so I assume those good albums were ghostwritten.

Plus, she copies other artists like Matthew Perryman Jones, Lana, Jackson Five, and does mot give credit yet sues anyone she thinks is copying her.

I am done with her drama and now listen to the people she copied instead of her.

I doubt she is a billionaire. She is Trump 2. Trump had a PR campaign to have people think he was super rich and brilliant biz owner.

PR is persuasive.

I think Taylor has been quiet about politics because she is worried her fans will be targeted for things that she says. I think she said something to this effect sort of recently. Remember she had to cancel a concert due to a credible terrorist threat and there was a shooting at a dance class or something that was TS themed. I know people here like to see everything she says and do’s in the most negative light possible, but I could see this being a difficult dilemma. So many crazy people out there.

Absolutely this. Someone like the PP only wants to hear from celebrities if they parrot whatever THEY think. Glad she hasn’t gotten into it at all.

This reads like really dreadful fan fiction. How funny that you continue to haunt TS threads while professing you are “done” with her. Too, too funny.

Indeed - some of whom are right here on DCUM.

Not at all. But we'd like to know what they think and believe in. It shows character. Great fame and power come also with great responsibility. Unfortunately, Taylor doesn’t seem to understand or care about that.

It really isn’t her responsibility to tell you what she thinks. She’s not obligated to satisfy your curiosity. If you’re looking to a pop singer for political guidance, that’s a you problem. A really big problem at that.

I think that for the most part she doesn’t care but also she might actually be MAGA. Travis seems to dumb to be into politics but he has said a few pro Trump things and seems to be trying to change his image from B-RAD from Malibu to something more flyover country friendly.

Oh, please. Are you scolding every entertainer who chooses to keep their opinions to themselves, or just Taylor Swift? Get over your sanctimony. I hope she keeps her political views to herself, along with any other entertainer.

Apparently, the PP needs celebrities to tell her how to think.
