| It's not so straightforward. They receive billions of reports, signals, measurements, etc every day. The information very well may have been received. That isn't the same thing as analysts keying in on it, assessing it, forming a theory that hamas would attack, writing about it, and that writing reaching the political decision makers. |

| I think the past few decades have shown us that “intelligence” is limited when dealing with the Middle East. Apparently Hamas had a very tight operation that included simply not using electronic communications that could be spied on, and having small cells that only knew their own part of the plan. And apparently neither Israel nor America actually had anyone on the inside. It was a well executed operation and apparently Americans and Israelis can’t match that. |

Of course they did, but they will claim “unbelievable chatter”. I’m of the mindset that they withheld information from Netanyahu so that it would look like he was to blame for this. Yes, they hate him THAT much. Taliban was selling our weapons left in Afghanistan on the black market almost immediately after our withdrawal. |

Reminder... the majority of "our" weapons left in Afghanistan weren't ours - they had been transferred over to Afghan National Army and Afghan Police over the span of 20 years, including by Trump. And more recently it's coming to light that Russian PMCs - Wagner and Redut were training and equipping Hamas, including with Western weapons captured on the Ukraine front. A lot of this is being done deliberately to provide propaganda points to try and discredit the West. |

You people watch too much TV. No. Hamas is not a priority for US intelligence. Why would the US spy inside Israel or spaces controlled by Israel? All we ever hear is Israel has the best intelligence services in the world. Contrary to what is put out in the media Israel and the US are not close allies. There is a lot of mistrust on the US side that Israel “intelligence” is selective and used to manipulate US(ie attack Iran, attack Iran, attack Iran). While the Israelis have contempt for anything US specially intelligence in their backyard and one of their main priorities. The Egyptians gave warning which were given low priority, ignored, looked in to but found not credible and/or stopped at the desk of a political appointee(pick any two). We will never know. Israel intelligence failed completely but the blame will be put someplace politically expedient. |
