Someone said they wish Matty and Taylor would create more music. Here are some facts.
Joe Alwyn has co-written six songs with Taylor Swift under the pseudonym William Bowery: "Exile" and "Betty" from folklore; "Champagne Problems," "Coney Island," and "Evermore" from evermore; and "Sweet Nothing" from Midnights. He also co-produced several of these tracks, including the folklore album, which won a Grammy for Album of the Year. folklore: (2020): "Exile" (feat. Bon Iver) "Betty" evermore: (2020): "Champagne Problems" "Coney Island" (feat. The National) "Evermore" (feat. Bon Iver) Midnights: (2022): "Sweet Nothing" What did Matty co-write with TS? |
Some runways are refreshing - short models, chubby models, etc. But yea, they are all nepo babies or adjacent. Gabbi uses to have a tough joan jett look, but she wasnt getting jobs so she removed fat from her cheeks and lost 30 pounds and started playing sexy vamp. What an evil industry |
Are you the Lana Del Rey stan with nothing but a Reddit thread as your "citation"?
|
She’s gorgeous. The Angelina to Taylor’s Jennifer Aniston (or perhaps the Elizabeth Taylor to her Betty Reynolds). She’s posing like that cause she snatched Taylor’s man but ultimately Matty is no prize so the joke is on her. |
But he inspired 50 (?) of Taylor’s best songs that earned her a billion of dollars and global superstar status. I am fascinated by their love affair and will never find it old news. |
Honestly, loving Matty Heally like this is the ONLY interesting thing she's ever done. Will never find it old news either. |
I don’t follow Taylor too closely, but a couple of bad ass things that stand out for me is suing the guy that grabbed her butt at the radio station for a dollar to make a point, and releasing the Kanye and Kim tapes to show that they were lying. I thought those both were pretty cool lol. As for Matty, I don’t think it’s possible for me to find him less appealing. I truly just don’t get it. |
| I don’t get Matty either but rock stars have always pulled beautiful actresses, models etc. well outside their league based on looks alone. It’s a whole thing, Matty ain’t special. |
True. I’m glad that Taylor is not with a musician frankly. I think it’s just too much. Look at Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Carly Simon and James Taylor. I just think it’s too much of that same personality in one relationship. If you look at male musicians who have had long marriages, they are not married to female musicians. Exception being one of the country stars I think it’s Faith Hill and her husband. But it’s pretty rare? At least it seems like it. |
I don’t know if or what Marry co-wrote with Taylor. It sounds like they kept their partnership very hush-hush, likely because it was more than just a professional attachment over the years. He said they collaborated on Midnights. She sang that she keeps her longings “locked in lowercase inside a vault”, and fans are theorizing there might be more songs about or with him on folklore, evermore and reputation that we haven’t heard (all 3 albums are spelled in lowercase). Matty recorded some verses on Sl!t, a song that’s very likely about him, but those were removed when they broke up. More importantly, he and Taylor used their music to inspire one another and to exchange messages, at times direct questions and answers, such as “But if the story’s over, why am I still writing pages?” (Taylor), and on his next album he would write a song for her and sing, “I think the story needs more pages, yes.” I keep noticing other similar examples in their lyrics, music, and videos and have seen many more on social media. I feel bad for Joe. She said he was “a miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary” and referred to their relationship as “the slammer.” All while he was allegedly co-writing songs with her on albums about her other love interest 😬 I wonder if he suspected, or if he too fell for her tall tales about fictional characters and made-up love triangles. |
Ah, so you the one who says they can’t look at Reddit for the videos of the similarities between songs. So funny! The songs are the “citation.” In Lana's song Blue Jeans the lyrics say - "Blue jeans, white shirt, Walked into the room, you know you made my eyes burn, It was like James Dean for sure" In Style - "You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye, You got that long hair, slicked back, white T-shirt" Also in Blue Jeans -" But you fit me better than my favorite sweater" Reminded me of Cardigan - "When I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed, you put me on and said I was your favorite" In Lana's song Diet Mountain Dew -" Baby, put on heart-shaped sunglasses" reminds me of Taylor and the heart-shaped glasses in 22. Born to Die was released in January 2012 and Red in October 2012. In Lana's song National Anthem - " Reckless abandon, Holdin' me for ransom, upper echelon, He says to be cool, but I don't know how yeť" In Ready for it - " But if he's a ghost, then I can be a phantom, Holdin' him for ransom" In Lana's song, Million Dollar Man - "One for the money, Two for the show, I love you, honey, I'm ready, I'm ready to go" In Champagne Problems - "One for the money, two for the show, I never was ready, so I watch you go" |
Agreed. |
I didn’t get it back when TTPD dropped either, but then saw this description of Matty online: philosopher by day, poet by night, rock star by profession, rebel by nature. So I went and listened to interviews to see what his deal was, also watched some 1975 performances, and I can see the allure. |
I mean, crazy lady with the murder board, is it possible that the lyrics and themes you mention are so common that several artists have written about them? So many, in fact, I could pull all of these off the top of my head. Imagine if I googled. |
I don’t feel too bad for Joe. I get really annoyed at people who are like I don’t want to be in the public spotlight but I’m going to date the biggest celebrity that has ever come on the scene. The one who really likes to engage with her fans and be out there and I’m going tell her how unhappy it makes me and this is going go on for years. Taylor of course needs to own her crap and why she chose that but Joe has always annoyed me because of that. The other reason I don’t feel too sorry for him is because he made millions off those songs. Producing and writing credits for six songs that have streamed in the billions and billions have made him low seven figures and he will continue to make tens of thousands per year for the rest of his life. |
