Someone said they wish Matty and Taylor would create more music. Here are some facts. Joe Alwyn has co-written six songs with Taylor Swift under the pseudonym William Bowery: "Exile" and "Betty" from folklore; "Champagne Problems," "Coney Island," and "Evermore" from evermore; and "Sweet Nothing" from Midnights. He also co-produced several of these tracks, including the folklore album, which won a Grammy for Album of the Year. folklore: (2020): "Exile" (feat. Bon Iver) "Betty" evermore: (2020): "Champagne Problems" "Coney Island" (feat. The National) "Evermore" (feat. Bon Iver) Midnights: (2022): "Sweet Nothing" What did Matty co-write with TS?
I don’t know if or what Marry co-wrote with Taylor. It sounds like they kept their partnership very hush-hush, likely because it was more than just a professional attachment over the years. He said they collaborated on Midnights. She sang that she keeps her longings “locked in lowercase inside a vault”, and fans are theorizing there might be more songs about or with him on folklore, evermore and reputation that we haven’t heard (all 3 albums are spelled in lowercase). Matty recorded some verses on Sl!t, a song that’s very likely about him, but those were removed when they broke up. More importantly, he and Taylor used their music to inspire one another and to exchange messages, at times direct questions and answers, such as “But if the story’s over, why am I still writing pages?” (Taylor), and on his next album he would write a song for her and sing, “I think the story needs more pages, yes.” I keep noticing other similar examples in their lyrics, music, and videos and have seen many more on social media. I feel bad for Joe. She said he was “a miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary” and referred to their relationship as “the slammer.” All while he was allegedly co-writing songs with her on albums about her other love interest 😬 I wonder if he suspected, or if he too fell for her tall tales about fictional characters and made-up love triangles.
I don’t feel too bad for Joe. I get really annoyed at people who are like I don’t want to be in the public spotlight but I’m going to date the biggest celebrity that has ever come on the scene. The one who really likes to engage with her fans and be out there and I’m going tell her how unhappy it makes me and this is going go on for years. Taylor of course needs to own her crap and why she chose that but Joe has always annoyed me because of that. The other reason I don’t feel too sorry for him is because he made millions off those songs. Producing and writing credits for six songs that have streamed in the billions and billions have made him low seven figures and he will continue to make tens of thousands per year for the rest of his life.
